The Mets collapsed the second half of the season and didn't even make the playoffs, yet they've yet to improve their team while other teams are getting better (Braves, D-Backs, Dodgers) They may have even gotten worse this offseason by losing LoDuca, Milledge, Glavine and Green

Most people assume that just because his name was on the Mitchell report that he's automatically guilty of using performance enhancement drugs. In reality...that's hardly the case since he was never given a fair opportunity to make a defense for himself. Furthermore, the only evidence they have against is testimonial evidence which isn't nearly enough to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Clemens is guilty. The only problem is if he does contest the allegations, then he could further incriminate himself. So what should he do now that his legacy is at stake?

Steroids? Give me a break this will never be corrected. Instead of doing what they did they should have been coming up with a plan for beefing up the drug testing. But anyway how about focusing on THE GAME and WHY you play it. How about going back to the good old days when all you could think about was playing and not money and politics. You make more money then most people will in a life time and thats the bench players. Whats your take on sports today and how can it be fixed?

Or will people say: well, because he's the Rocket, we will treat him a little differently? Will people drag his name through the mud too? Barry was a much better player than Clemens would ever be. Remember, Bonds had HOF numbers even before he was accused of "steroids." And has it even been proven that he did anything wrong? We do know one thing: Clemens did cheat. So should his numbers be considered to have an * next to them too?

And "bug" eyed selig hires a man who has a good credibility.Racks up countless millions in legal fees and gets testimony mostly from sources that were facing time. The court of public opinion already have the pot of boiling oil or tar and feathers ready. What ever happened to due process? Is this how citizens are treated in the usa?

And doesn't that clear the so called asterisk?

2007-12-14 09:43:18 · 11 answers · asked by David M 6

all are to blame but who do you think is the most to blame.

-Majority of fans for "not caring"

-Media for not digging deeper

-Players for using the Steroids to earn more money and cement their legacy

-MLB Owners for turning their back on this since the Steroid era was bringing in the cash

-Selig for turning his eye away since the great homerun chase(all time and single season) as most say "saved baseball"

if you can think of any else feel free to chime in.

Being a Giants fan most would probably assume Bonds and Matt Williams would be the most for me.

However to me the most disappointing to me are Lenny Dykstra and Wally Joyner(reported by espnews)

Wally was awesome and now i am sad!

Some of these guys spent a lot of money on products that really didn't do them any good. Is there a way for them to get a refund on their 'roids?

I hate to post another question on here about the Mitchell Report...but...

Was Jim Thome, and active Red Sox player, Mike Sweeney, or Randy Johnson ever mentioned?

I know Randy isnt that big but he threw gas.
I dont think David Ortiz ever did roids.
Mike Sweeney maybe just kinda fat?

and did it crush anyone that Benito Santiago was in the report?
i used to love that guy....(I dont really know why but he played forever. I actually dont know when he retired..)...

Stop and think about this from two perspectives:
1. Cheating infers that an opponent has an advantage over his opponent (use of steroids/PEDs). Do you HONESTLY think that if an MLB player wanted to get his hands on PEDs he could? Thus, it says that becase a player chooses NOT to use, that those who DO choose to use are cheaters...HUH?

2. Do PEDs help with hitting a baseball? You have to time the pitch and hit a round ball with a round stick at the precise angle in the right direction. Will PEDs help that ball go father...yes. BUT you have to make contact first. PEDs don't help that.

Steroids and PEDs are player-hater crutches.

Don't want to hear about the legalities.

in the future knowing players are cheating cause they can get away with it? Does it also bother you that most are cheating to make even more money?

How will you stand to this as a fan spending your hard earned money on a cheating product?
