Every team has a sterioid user on thier team.

There was no way these were the only two teams. Not by a longshot, and you should read the sections in the report itself and re-think your blanket statement. It's available for free at MLB.com.

The only reason that these two teams had so many players named is because the ONLY MAJOR SOURCES that Mitchell had were from these teams. If he gets other sources, he gets more names from other teams. They're out there, believe me.

Furthermore, keep in mind that many players named from each team were with the Mets or Yankees for short periods of time, and are NOT alleged to have taken performance-enhancing substances WHILE with those teams.

For example, all of Paul Lo Duca's story is based on his time with the Dodgers, NOT the Mets.

Paul Byrd spent the beginning of his career with the Mets in the mid-'90s, LONG before his Mitchell story begins. Mark Carreon, same idea. Same for Chris Donnels, Fernando Vina, and David Segui.

In fact, very few Mets stories are based on the players' time WITH the Mets. As far as I can tell, the only ones on that list whose Mitchell stories involve taking performance-enhancing substances WHILE with the Mets are Todd Hundley, Matt Franco, Len Dykstra, Todd Pratt, Mike Stanton, maybe Mo Vaughn (doubtful). The story is similar for the Yankees, though they had a greater share of "star" names taking the substances in the last ten years while with the Yankees.

Performance-enhancing substances have not been a problem unique to only New York, San Francisco, Boston, Chicago, Tampa, or any other city. This has been a RAMPANT problem in ALL of Major League Baseball. To direct the blame to one particular city is irresponsible, unfair, and just plain wrong.

EDIT: I appreciate that, Darth Kraft. Thanks.

they did, but there are two very logical reasons why, and though i hate to say this, one should not read into the mitchell report that the yankees and mets are the wrost cheating teams
first reason is, the two main snitches, if you will, were a towel boy for the mets, and a trainer for the yankees, so most of the names they will name will be guys from the teams they worked for, the yankees and mets
secondly i doubt very highly that there is any coincidence that the man doing the report works for the red sox, and that not one single sox player was on the list, and that two of the sox biggest local rivals had names of their players all over that list
i find it really really hard to believe that david ortiz hasnt taken because the metrodome in minneapolis, ortizs home stadium before boston, balls have a tendency to fly out, but ortzi wasnt mashing 40-50 homeruns there, plus knowing that ortiz has injury problems in the same places that giambi does, we know giambi took steroids, and one of the best clues is that you have joint problems (knees, elbows, shoulders) sound like anybody you know sox fans?

What do expect when the two trainers were from the New York teams. What if the trainers were from Tampa bay or Kansas City? Would we have seen more Royal & Devil Ray players on list & ain't it funny how a Patriot fan can call someone else a CHEATER. There are more players out there on steroids on all teams no matter what anybody else says or what's in the Mitchell Report.

Well, for a viewpoint that doesn't try to implement all of western culture, here it is. The main reason that so many Yankees and Mets were mentioned is because the only two people that would talk were former employees of the two clubs. If a former Braves Bat Boy had been interview, we likely would have heard about Chipper Jones and John Smoltz taking steroids. Had your favorite team and your teams biggest players to this equation and you will understand what I am saying.

That is Correct. Mets Have 15 And Yanks Have 19.

You Better Rephrase That! The Teams Don't Cheat The Players Do. That's The Players' Fault!

This is only the latest issue with NY sports teams this year, what with the Jets* "Gate D" incident, their new taping admission in Foxboro, and the ongoing soap opera called the New York Knicks*.

have these teams become so desperate, given their poor recent performance, that they must resort to such flagrant cheating and debauchery?

has the pressure to win this century become so great on Yankees, that they need to resemble Needle Park in Amsterdam?

Sure looks like it from here.

Yes, the Yankees had the most, and 8 players from their 2000 World Championship team were on that list...thats 1/3 of the roster.

...what I want to know is, why wasn't Chipper Jones' name on that list???

It's true, the Yankees had more names on the Mitchell report than any other club.

We all know more people should be on that list. The only reason NY has more is because they had a snitch within.
