Not siding with either, just an observation. Any thoughts?

bourgosie - Apparently not silly enough or you would not have taken the time to answer. I'm not pointing fingers here. This is merely an observation as I have stated.

It's disappointing, but not surprising. After such a long time of defending Bonds, they've got the opportunity to go on the offensive and are doing it with a vengeance. It doesn't help their cause in my eyes, though, because what Clemens may have allegedly done changes nothing about Barry Bonds' actions.

It's also interesting to me that they say the "proof" against both is equal. Somehow, they equate Bonds admitting to a grand jury that he unknowingly used a substance believed to be "the clear" (tetrahydrogestrinone) with a clubhouse attendant's testimony regarding Clemens. Roger may be as guilty as sin - I really don't know - but the Bonds supporters are certainly quick to convict. Ironic, isn't it?

I think everyone is on the defensive to some degree. People want to stand up for their guy, their team, their city. Saner heads are saying we should wait it out and get some more tangible proof. A lot of what I have seen in the last twenty-four hours is people pointing fingers at others as if it will take any attention away from the fact that their players are part of the problem too.

San Francisco fans have been taking a beating for years now. There is a lot of pent up emotion and it exploded yesterday.

I see the point that they are making, everyone has crucified Bonds in this for a long time and now that Clemens is in there they want to hear the same response to Clemens. I could care less if they hang any of them, I do not see where they would have a leg to stand on to punish any of them without a conviction or a failed test. MLB now has to decide if they want to focus on the suggestions that Mitchell is making or if they want to continue on a witch hunt for players and not address the real problem.

I think that it is all heresay in the report until you have a positive test so they shoudl drop the assault on the players and instead focus on pushing past this and strengthen that testing.

No, this is a silly question.

Of course they are lining up this is exactly what they have been waiting for . . . of course they are going to do that. They have been waiting for some other big name to be implicated. I don't think anyone is ignorant enough to think Bonds didn't do it, but his supporters rightfully point to the fact that steroids is rampant and he is not the only one who did them like it seems everyone thinks.

The only way this would be curious is if they didn't get mad at Clemens.

What I find more interesting are the Bonds Bashers who now have all kinds of excuses for Clemens.

That's not actually happening. Next time you make a claim, maybe you should try supporting it with some sort of evidence.
