Pete Rose should already be in the Hall of Fame. Barry Bonds, Mark McGwire, Sammy Sosa, Roger Clemens all belong in the Baseball Hall of Fame.
MLB expanded in 1961 from 16 teams to 18. That same year Roger Maris broke the single season home run record.
In the early 1990's baseball now had 26 major league teams, Home Runs and Pitching accomplishments come...in 1998 MLB expanded to 30 teams, Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa both break Roger Maris single season home run record.
Diluted Major League Talent allows superior players to post superior numbers. In 1960 half of todays players would have no major league team to play for. Only the cream of the crop could play. So therefore today's cream of the crop is labeled as using performance enhancing supplements?
Get real! Get a brain! Examine Baseball History before you judge these ball players.

Pete Rose will never get into the HOF. He is no longer eligible because he was not nominated within the time frame. Pete Rose and the steroid issue have nothing to do with each other. One can not be justified by the other. The Pete Rose comparison simply is irrelevant. It makes Pete Rose fans have a reason to feel indignant. They should have thought about that when Pete Rose was lying, gambling and acting like an arrogant child. THAT'S why he isnt getting into the Hall of Fame. And all the steroid users from now to the end of time are not going to change that.

I think Barry Bonds was going to be an easy pick for the HOF, before he got so much better at an age when most ball players are losing a little. In 14 years he had HOF numbers, he had 445 homeruns, good average and was a very good ballplayer. After age 36 he hit 317 home runs.and one of those years he only played 14 games. If he goes in he should go in for his first 14 years. Roger Clemens before the alledged steroid use starting in 1998 only had 213 wins that would be a long way from HOF numbers. He got more dominant as he got older, some of that could be that he got more savvy and learned how to pitch more effectively but I think he had chemical help and I say NO to HOF.

I spit on both Bonds and Clemens. These guys cheated.
Pete Rose of who was my baseball hero when I was growing up; is blamed for gambling during baseball. Well get this, he was accused of doing this as a coach, not a player. He announced his guilt to the world. Now let's get Pete in the HOF. He deserves it. After all, he is considered as the greatest player of all time. HEY!!!!! An added note; Pete never did steroids.

I will sleep fine at night knowing that, Rose should NEVER be in the Hall because he broke the biggest rule of all...he lied about it for years and then only partially came clean, there is NO way that he just came to the epiphany that he could bet on his team as a Manager...he was a known gambler as a player and spent a lot of time at the horse races, I can not believe that he never placed a bet on Baseball as a player.

None of these guys will be in the Hall of fame.Keep telling yourself they will.No matter what in the eyes of writers and fans they are cheaters and the Commissioner has yet to say what he will do.Would not shock me for a life time ban or even a HOF black out.

Perfectly fine, if they ever do (which they should).
Rose broke the rules and willingly accepted his sanction from MLB. That the Hall later slammed the door on him was rather backhanded, but oh well. He might get in whenever he's innocent.
-----
re/ "no warnings" -- nonsense. MLB Rule 21 is posted in every major league locker room, home and visitor, prominently. Rose was completely aware of the rule and its defined sanctions.

I agree with you, and I think it's crap. We give these guys all the warnings in the world... They'll be able to manage and get into the Hall... But with Pete, he got no warnings... He deserves the Hall.
With warnings i mean... Some of the players tested positive... but they didn't even get suspended... bs
