IF, I say IF, A-Rod does choose to leave, then who will replace him at 3rd? Perhaps Wilson Betemit? Or move Shelley Duncan to 3rd.

I have several boxes of various baseball books and Street and Smith's Baseball Yearbooks dated from the 1950's to the late 1980's. Where would I sell them and anyone have any idea what they are worth? I really don't want to Ebay them.

Or rather, what current rules would you ensure were enforced?

I'd like to see fewer bases awarded when a pitch hits a batter that makes no (if any) attempt to get out of the way. I've seen too many batters lean into a pitch and be awarded first base.

I'd also like to see a "delay of game" rule. The pitcher gets 30 seconds (or a reasonable amount of time) between the time he gets the ball back and the time he begins his windup, or an automatic ball is called. Similarly, the batter gets 30 seconds (or a reasonable amount of time) to get back into the box, after which the pitcher may throw even if the batter is not ready to hit.

I would be perceived as such an asshole as a home-plate umpire, kind of like the cop that pulls you over for going 3 mph over the speed limit.

Would he get credit for winning a "World Series ring?"

Suppose he joined the Yankees but never got playing time. Would the Hall of Fame mention that he was a world champion if he makes it?

Personally, I like the NL better. It seems like in the NL, teams play more small ball (steals, sacrifices, bunts, etc) instead of in the AL where everyone tries to hit a homerun every time. I also like that the pitcher has to hit. Also, in the NL, theres a better balance of power with the teams. What do you all think

I was once told it was for media. Another time it was to divide the opposing fans. Yet another time I was told it's not a good 'view'. Its the exact CF section.

What a absolutely boring "nothing" this series has turned out to be! Not to mention that most of the country can't even stay awake because of the time zone factor. And to top it off, it's not even good baseball. Is the National League really this bad?

This is probably a language question more than it is a baseball question, but I'm always somewhat amused when Americans are speaking of ballclubs when talking about MLB teams.

The way I figure MLB is an agency for temporary labor in the entertainment and advertising industries, with 30 local franchises throughout North America.

A club is something you can become a member when paying a membership fee, regardless of age or sex (except if all men or all women.

If you can explain how a ballclub is a club, or define the word ballclub or club better than me, then feel free to answer.
