When a team leads a best of 7 series 3-0, do think they have an advantage in each ensuing game because they are on a role and have momentum. Or do you think they have an advantage because the other team has to try harder because they are on the brink of elimination. Does this make the other team more prone to mistakes? Obviously I'm referring to the NLCS with the D'backs and Rockies, but I'm also referring to the fact there have only been 2 teams to come back and win a best of 7 after being down 3-0 (Boston Red Sox and a hockey team).

It all begins with a baseball, fully paid for and taxed, that's hit by Barry Bonds for his record breaking home run. The guy who happens to catch it is taxed for a mysterious "estimated" pricetag on the ball before he even thinks about what to do with it. This poor guy wants to keep the ball, but has to sell it because he cant pay the tax on a "750,000 ball." When the tax on a ball has been paid once already, i find it strange they can tax you again because the ball is special in some way it wasn't when they taxed you the first time. I can understand if you find a diamond in government soil that you must pay tax on it, but this situation seems far too...over the top. I'm angered over this unreasonable taxation, even though i am not the victim.

this is there year, and i have a feeling that destny is on there side.and not luck like some pepole think(winning 21-22 games is not luck by the way,it's talent).if they do win,do you think some of the star players would leave the team, and move on to bigger ones?or would you think they would be loyal, and ignore the big bucks.

It is hard to imagine that the Colorado Rockies might actually go to the World Series. They already beat Arizona, now the next Rockies pitcher might pitch them into the World Series. They haven't been to post season in 10 years, now they are there, they might go to the World Series, its crazy. Do you think the Rockies can do it?

It's no wonder they haven't all these years, (since 1948), if it meant having to beat the Yankees AND the Red Sox to do it.

The recent beating Eric Gagne of the Boston Redsox experienced in Game 2 of the ALCS made me realize how hard it is to stay among the best in the role of closer in MLB for an extended period of time. When Eric Gagne played for the Los Angeles Dodgers, many thought he was the most dominating closer in baseball. Today, after various meltdowns, he has been ranked the lowest in Boston's bullpen. He is not the first to experience such a change. I know there have been various others. Mark Wholers of the Atlanta Braves and Brandon Lidge of the Houston Astros are the only other two I can think of? Can you help me identify others?

Putting Gagne on their postseason roster and not Julian Tavarez. And then being forced to turn to possibly their worst pitcher on the team last night (or this morning) and having him take the loss?

Should Tavarez be there instead

"The Boss" announced that if his Yankees did not win their Division Series against Cleveland, then Joe Torre would be fired. But it hasn't happened. Was George's threat merely a bluff??

The pressure of holding a game for the closer seems to be getting to gagne

as shown here

ERA when BOS is in the lead: 9.55 (13.2, 22 H, 14 K, 14 ER)
ERA when BOS is losing: 0.00 (5 IP, 4 H, 8 K)

Will he ever be the same? Is the setup role killing him?
Will he ever be able to hold a lead?

Is Boston killing him mentally?

Thoughts?
