Baseball is one of those funny sports that there is no way of telling who is going to be where from one year to the next. I am an Angels fan and my NL side a Rockies fan but I do like what the Phillies have, they have a good solid offense and not that bad of a defense, but they need to sew up that pitching staff and stay healthy and best of all have a little luck on their side.
I have no idea of what players they will be losing due to free agency, but if they keep that line up and beef up a tad on starting and the bullpen they will be there again at the top of the East, I am sure they will beat out the Mets and Braves this time round without having to wait till the last series of the year.

The Phillies often is the in demand to make the international sequence interior the Nl. As seen, it is not basic to win the international sequence no longer to indicate make it there. right it rather is why the Phillies would be risky. a million. Starrting pitching- Cliff Lee, Cole Hamels, J.A. Happ, Joe Blanton will def be starters, with a threat of Mr. Roy Halliday turning out to be a member of this rotation. Even without Rot the suited 4 are fomidable, and Halliday could make this maximum suitable team in baseball. 2. Bullpen- we are able to convey back Eyre, and J.C. Romero who improve into so pivitol interior the W.S. run would be healthful in spring coaching. maximum severely Brad Lidge had surgical operation and could actual be plenty more advantageous from this dreadful season. Eyre, Romero, Madson, Lidge, Durbin, Chan-ho Park make a great pen. 3. extra useful balanced lineup. With Pedro Feliz long gone seek for the phils to usher in former Philly Placido Polanco or mark derosa to play third. the two are remarkable touch hitters, yet Polanco is likewise gold glove high quality fielder. Howard will contiue to enhance, and with any luck walk extra and cut back approximately 25 stikeouts down from final season. 4. youthful expertise- we are laid low with expertise that must be the bench piece bullpen cog, or conceivable 5th starter(Drabek) in mid june/july. seek for some young ones to connect the team and bolster the bench. 5. The communities middle is youthful and signed. This team will compete and win for the subsequent 5-7 years, and in baseball thats no basic feat. seek for the Phil's to be hungrier this season as their dream improve into denied a season in the past.

No one can predict who will win the world series, we can all only guess. The Phillies should be a contender again and if they can find some pitching help they might actually be one of the favorites.

No.
They have the offense, but their bullpen and starting rotation is very weak. Even if they find enough money to get Santana, or another starting pitcher, they still might not win it. I mean look at it this year against the Rockies, Rollins, Utley, and Howard did terrible.

It all depends on their free agent signings in the off-season, I think.................. they have got a good team there, but might need one or two more starting pitchers to get them through the playoffs
