He's not putting up monster number this year but still he's average is still above 320 avg./ 30+ HRs./ sittin on 95 RBIs, hopefully he'll get 100+. Not to mention he's been playing hurt for most of the year. If he had baserunners getting on before him or protection after him he'd have better numbers.

I think games involving a contender should be played at 100% The rookies and subs still can have opportunities in games among non-contenders. Is it fair for Houston to start three rookie pitchers against the Brewers this week? Where is Bud Selig?

I have just finished reading "Moneyball" and found it to be a great book. However, can relying on stats alone win a club the World Series? There is surely an undefinable quality in all athletes, including baseball players, that seperates the great from the good. That is usually seen when the pressure is on. Derek Jeter is a good example of this.

Guy who bought ball has a website that is letting people decide on what to do with the ball - the choices - give to Cooperstown, brand it and then send it to Cooperstown, or launch it into space.

I am trying hard not to question Leyland's decision to pull Rogers and put in Zumaya, but come on. Rogers was pitching fine, only 100 pitches. Does this not seem like the Tigers of old, or even the Detroit Red Wings, that when we get a lead we blow it late in the game? I don't see how we can catch the Yankees before the end of the year for that wildcard spot, but I just wanted to hear from all the other disappointed Tigers fans who see this year after year.

Cal Ripkin's consecutive games record or Barry Bond's home run record....

Do you think The Iron Man record will replace the Home Run record as THE RECORD IN BASEBALL? By this I mean the most coveted record in baseball?

Phils fans: I'm not trying to upset you_ I really want to know. If SD takes over the top spot from Arizona does it mean that Arizona will then become the NL Wild Card top spot because the Arizona percentage is better than the Phillies' percentage?

A 10 yr old boy a Boston Red Sox fan, went over to Yankee rookie Shelley Duncan for an autograph. Duncan obliged, and the boy was very excited. He had gotten signatures from lots of other teams, but never a N.Y.Yankee. When he got home he read what Duncan had written, and to his surprise, he couldn't believe his eyes. It said 'BOSTON RED SOX SUCK', and then his autograph. Now I am a die hard Yankee fan. True Blue. But how are our kids going to learn to be polite, if the grown-ups they admire do things like that. What say you?

Does Barry Bonds being a black man play a part in why the majority of baseball fans ( which are white america), despise him?

After all, after Mcgwire was caught with a steroid in his locker in 98 ( yes, legal at the time, but so was the clear and cream, two steroids that barry is accused of using), and nobody asked for baseball to asterisk his ball or homerun total. The same for gaylord perry who won 314 games while altering the baseball illegally. is it because they are white?
