If it's going to be either one, it's going to be Boston. Yes, the Mets are playing lousy, but they have two advantages over Boston. One is that they're playing lousy teams the rest of the way (Washington, Florida, St. Louis), while the Red Sox only pushover left is Tampa. The other factor is the teams chasing them. Boston has to hold off the Yankees, who have an annoying tendency to win, even when they were left for dead. The Mets are being chased by the Phillies, who have a tendency to choke like nobody else. The Phillies are not a team to overcome a deficit, they're a team to blow a lead. Look for the Phillies to not only not catch the Mets, but also to not catch the Padres, D-Backs or Dodgers for the wild card.
So, while I certainly hope neither team will blow it, my money would have to be on the Sox to come up short if I had to pick someone.

I hope that both choke. The Yankees have been my favorite team since the cradle and I can't stand the Boston Red Sox. But I'd like to see the Mets choke the NL East because I want to see the Fightin' Phils take the division because my Uncle Pat deserves to see what he built as a team culminate in a winner for the fickle fans of Philadelphia.

The Mets look like they are gonna blow the division, but the Red Sox surely will not.

If it's between NYM and Bos, than the Mets will blow it first. However I think the first team to go will be the D-Backs. The Pads are hot and just a game back.

New York Mets because they have lost four straight games and the Phillies are going to win the NL East divison crown.

Of the two, the Mets, but I don't think either one will blow it.
Given the choices though, Boston is as close to a sure thing as you can get. They have their whole team together lately.

The Mets were the cream of the crop two weeks ago and now can not do anything right, they are in serious jeopardy as Philly is putting it all together at the right time!
