I think it has to be between the Cubs and the Yankees. Personally, I don't like any team that tries to buy a World Series championship, and these two teams are the worst around.

For the AL, I hope the Cleveland Indians win the ALCS and go to the World Series. They're the only AL team that will make the playoffs who will have a payroll under $100 million.

For the NL, at least they will have smaller payrolls. I'm hoping to see Milwaukee win the NLCS and make the World Series, but I wouldn't mind seeing San Diego or Arizona there either, as long as the Cubs or Mets aren't there.

Not history wise, but right now...which is the better team, which is playing better ball?

Past or present. We all have some. Jake Woods is one of mine. Led the AL in triples in 1961 for the Detroit Tigers. Always wished he'd've made it bigger.

Tony Taylor, infielder for the Phillies. Tough little guy and a good fielder. Tony Gonzalez in the outfield for them, too. Lifetime .300 hitter.

Camillo Pascual. Pretty darn good pitcher for the Senators/Twins.

These days, guys like Tom Flash Gordon are good. How about your favorites??

Eg., first at-bat he's batting righty, then 2nd time he's lefty, 3rd time lefty, 4th time righty... etc.

WON/LOST RECORD ON JULY 1ST
Red Sox 52-31
Indians 51-33
Angels 51-33
Yankees 40-42
WON/LOST RECORD SINCE JULY 1ST
Yankees 47-22
Indians 39-29
Angels 38-29
Red Sox 38-31
Since the Yankees are the best AL team since July 1st does this give them an advantage going to the playoffs or are these numbers meaningless?

My heart say yes. My brain says no. But they can because in the second half of this year they have went on a unparalled scoring frenzy. The relief pitching is holding. Joba Chaimberlain has magnificent so far. They are on a roll. In this the most improbable year for the Yankees to go to a world series, i think they will. I predict it.

And if they do catch the boston Red Sox for first, Joe Torre deserves AL Manager os the year. This has been his best coaching job yet. After starting the year 14 1/2 gms back of first place in the AL East, this is amazing to even be in this postion to win the division coming down the stretch. This reminds me of the "Bronx is burning" yanks. Alex rodrgriguez is the equivalent to reggie jackson. and he'll win the AL MVP. The Yanks are in the perfect position to go all the way. They are hot. We've seen the Astros do it a few years back. That could happen again.

This onetime Phillies pitcher is the only MLB player to have batted against Nolan Ryan 12 times without ever striking out. He retired after a short time with the St. Louis Cardinals.

Will the Mets sign anyone major? Sure it means losing a draft pick, but the draft is so complicated and you can never predict how each player will pan out.

I may not be the biggest Cub fan in the world, but I do believe in fairness. Oswalt and "Woodie" wouldn't have given up 16 runs in two games. I smell a rat here. Maybe some revenge against the Cubs? The Reds pitched their two best pitchers against the Cubs. Come on guys. Let's be fair.

In the NBA playoffs last year they all wore shirts that said "Beat Detroit" and now in the Indians-Tigers series I've seen a few of those shirts popping up, not to mention the constant "Detroit sucks" chants.

Why not actually cheer for YOUR team rather than cheering AGAINST the other team? Seriously every other team has chants like "Let's go Tigers" or "Let's go Yankees" but these idiots in Cleveland just seem so preoccupied with beating Detroit that it seems they're more excited about Detroit losing than they are about Cleveland winning.

I guess it's a compliment?
