What is the magic number for the yankees to clinch the playoff spot .

Also do you think the yankees will celebrate twice or just one . I mean when they celebrate when they get in the playoffs and maybe if they get the AL East . Would they Celebrate twice or just once

Like you have noticed the yankees are only 1.5 gmes behind the red sox for the AL East title we have not been that close since April. You have a;ready read or answered about 100 question the couple of days about how the yankees are making this comeback. Im Happy what yankee fan is not , but to tell you the truth i havent really noticed the yankees are this close to the red sox. I have only been taking 1 game at a time if they won good happy move on to the next game . If they lost get over it and move to the next game. Know reality kicked in there only 1.5 Games behind the red sox

My question is Do you want the Al East or the Wild card .

I at this point just want to get in the playoffs and hope for the best

the home run ichiro hit during the world series should be counted as an inside the park home run, and the ball sent to the hall.
I am sure the asterisk in the record book would mention that the ball bounced off an iregular angle. lol :)

For a player to make all 3 outs, at least 19 players would have to come to the plate in the inning - with 3 outs and 3 left on base, the minimum scoring would have to be 13 runs. I'm sure players have come to bat 3 times in one inning, but have they ever made all 3 outs?

The guys stats are unbelievable, about the only stat he is not leading offensively is HR's and he's fourth in the NL in tht category. And don't give the playoff thing, cause Fielder's team is not better, they are just in a weaker division.

Marc Ecko had the winning bid Saturday in the online auction for the ball that Bonds hit last month to break Hank Aaron's record of 755 home runs. The final selling price was $752,467, well above most predictions.

Ecko, 35, has set up a Web site that lets visitors vote on three options for the ball: give it to the National Baseball Hall of Fame, brand it with an asterisk before sending it to Cooperstown or blast it into space on a rocket ship.

The asterisk would suggest that Bonds' record is tainted by alleged steroid use. The Giants slugger has denied knowingly using performance-enhancing drugs.

1) Give it to the National Baseball Hall of Fame
2) Brand it with an asterisk before sending it to Cooperstown
3) Blast it into space on a rocket ship

From time to time I like to get the opinions of baseball fans regarding players from the past. This is one such case.

Knowing in advance what their careers would bring, how would you rank the following four players assuming you were going to draft them? Take into account all aspects of their game - hitting, defense, speed, leadership, intangibles - whatever you feel is important when assessing a player.

Please provide reasoning behind your opinion, something beyond "He was the man!" :-)

As always, thanks in advance for your thoughtful responses.

The players, presented alphabetically:

- Rickey Henderson
- Joe Morgan
- Frank Robinson
- Mike Schmidt

In todays world, it's sad that if someone is playing really well that we automatically assume steroids. But I can't help but think that maybe he's on them. I don't put it passed anyone these days. I'm suspicious of everybody.

I understand people have great seasons and career seasons, but this really came out of nowhere. I know there's no such proof, and his name hardly ever comes up in these allegations, but in your opinion, do you think he may be on steroids?

What also makes it more suspicious is that he's been released about 4 times and was about to be released by Tampa. Then someone had an injury so they kept him. All of a sudden he's belting out 40 homers and has a career high 110+ RBI's. Let me remind you he's never had more than 82 RBI's.

The whole thing is just very "convenient". Especially in today's world of baseball.
