The guys stats are unbelievable, about the only stat he is not leading offensively is HR's and he's fourth in the NL in tht category. And don't give the playoff thing, cause Fielder's team is not better, they are just in a weaker division.

Definately! Who was the idiot before that said look at the facts? For the National League he is #1 in RBI, #1 in AVG. and #4 for HR, the big 3 for hitters. Not to mention #1 in Total Bases, #1 Doubles, #2 Slug%. All this in the best division overall with 4 teams still in the hunt. Additionally, Coors field since the Humidor should not be looked at any differently then any other park. They all have their quirks. If Matt was hitting in Philly (a hitters park) he would lead every category and win it hands down.

I don't think Wright or Prince are even close , Hollidays numbers are much much better overall. The only thing Prince has on him is HR's (if Holliday stays on this torrid steak he may catch him) and Wright is nowhere close in any statistical category. And don't give me the crap about Coors field , look at the offensive numbers since they started using the humidor a couple of years ago, its no longer the launching pad it used to be.The most telling sign to this is the fact the the Rockies pitchers for the first time in there history have a better home ERA then on the road. His road numbers are very solid which being in the NL west speaks volumes, a bulk of his road games have been played in Petco, Dodger Stadium, and AT&T Park probally the top 3 pitchers ballparks in the Majors. Not to mention that the NL West has had the best pitching in all of baseball this year. He'll probally get snubbed and they'll give it to Wright just because he plays in NY. If Holliday was in a Mets uniform there would be no debate, he would be as much as a lock for NL MVP as A-Rod is in the AL. He has my vote, unfortunatley that means nothing.

Earlier in the season I would have voted for Jose Reyes, but latley he has been G - A - R - B - A - G E. Without a doubt, if I had a vote it would be Matt Holliday, followed by Fielder, and then Wright. Holliday is leading the NL in just about every category there is and thats a type of player who deserves the MVP award. Whats amazing is that he wasn't even elected for the Hank Aaron Award... This guy is way underrated and its a shame because he is so talented.

First, adjust for Coors Field. He falls to #7 in OPS+, which is about the best simple stat I can find without doing a lot of searching. His fielding is so-so, and that can't help him.
His team is third in the West, which doesn't strike me as a much better division than any other.
To be strictly accurate, he is also not leading in: slugging, on-base percentage, times on base, runs, home runs, runs batted in...he's having a great year, so there's no need to exaggerate.
But the Rockies could fail to win the division without him.
Without Fielder or Wright, it is doubtful either of their teams would still be in contention.

If there grow to be a "maximum more desirable participant for the time of the Season Award" then he could unquestionably be seen. however the Manny result (a million/2 a season of miraculous play) isn't a factor right here because of the fact he's not the only participant on the playing cards team. He may well be missed as a results of astounding season from start to end by Albert by every physique who grow to be no longer a prisoner of the 2d. Albert saved the playing cards atop the branch with out Lugo, Holliday, or DeRossa and with Wellemeyer because of the fact the 5th starter and wood worker harm for 6 starts...that grow to be the MVP high quality overall performance.

I like Holliday and his stats but it will be hard for him to win unless his team makes the playoffs. I won't argue that he possibly has done better than anyone in the NL this year but if the Rockies are sitting it out in October I don't think he will win.

The Rockies are the better team. The Brewers just play in a division that suc*s!

Holliday does have very good stats but so do Jose Reyes, David Wright, Hanley Ramirez, and Brandon Phillips

No doubt Holliday is great, but the playoff thing does matter to the writers who vote. my top five would be: Jose Reyes, Hanley Ramirez (despite no playoff chance), Jimmy Rollins, Holiday and Fielder, not necessarily in that order. Honorable mention: Chase Utley
