permit's take the suited 3 information interior the league and do a uncomplicated stat through stat anaylsis: ordinary checklist: Rays: 14-5 Twins: 13-6 Yankees: 12-6 Batting favourite: Yankees: .273 Twins: .267 Rays: .258 dwelling house runs: Yankees: 20 Rays: 20 Twins: 19 RBI's: Rays: 106 Twins: ninety two Yankees: 86 SB's: Rays: 21 Yankees: 19 Twins: 11 era: Rays: 3.38 Yankees: 3.40 3 Twins: 3.fifty 5 of direction there are a number of different factors that can decide a team's ordinary overall performance, yet in line with those stats and having the superb checklist interior the league, the Rays are presently the superb team interior the league, and that i positioned an excellent emphasis on the expertise presently. we've not even comprehensive the month of April yet, so issues would desire to alter in the time of here few months.

Minnesota makes sense for this question. But so do a host of other teams. The team I thought of first are the White Sox. They were expected to once again challenge for the AL Central and be a playoff caliber team. They are currently in LAST PLACE in their division.
Other arguments could be made for the Blue Jays and Orioles, two teams that spent a lot of money in the offseason on big name players. Neither team had success with this formula, and Baltimore's record currently stands at a pathetic 64-87.

stupid cubs. They have 3, possibly 4 Mvp caliber players (all making mvp caliber salaries), and a possible 5th, in the not likely but possibly event that Kerry Wood "Re-finds" himself somewhere in that cruddy bullpen and that dead ivy. (im a cardinal fan). But with what the cubs have, they should have easily been the first team in baseball to clinch. instead they have The Ryan Braun and Prince Fielder team right behind them, and my cardinals came within an out of taking sole possession of first a week and a half ago before our 9 game losing streak, and believe me when I tell you that Jockety Did absolutely nothing to help the cardinals last off season. Cubs fans should be ashamed, but I realise that this is what cubs fans have been for 99 years and by now its considered content for chicagos fans. Lol. I think if the cubs won every game til the end of the season, swept the NLDS, swept the NLCS, and then GOt swept and shutout on 4 straight games in the WS, Noone in chicago would be suprised.

The bluejays, the mariners, the yankees. all these teams are underachieving regardless of if they are in contention or not. But were talking Alfonso Soriano, Derek Lee, Aramis Ramiriez, Carlos Zambrano... And im sure they will get more.

I've followed the Minnesota Twins since 1982, and this is my least favorite team of theirs in that time.

Hunter whines about his contract. Santana whines about his contract. Moreneau whines about his contract. Silva......etc etc.

They are a 90 win team that is going to win 75-77 games. Gardenhire lost the team in July. Half of the team quit when they didn't get a hitter at the trade deadline.

Personally, I hope they let Hunter sign with Texas or whatever, and they trade Santana for some quality minor leaguers before he leaves anyway after 2008. Maybe they can be like the Seattle Mariners in 2001 when they let go of their "stars" (Griffey,Johnson,ARod) and started winning with less egos taking up room.

UGH!

Rant over

Dude..
seriously think about it.
the yankees..
look at their players..
Johnny Damon, Derek Jeter,A-Rod,Bobby Abreu, Hideki Matsui, Jason Giambi, Jorge Posada, Roger Clemens, Chen Min Wang, Andy Pettit, and Mariano Rivera.
These are all players that have had all star calibur years at one point in their career and some of these guys are on their way to cooperstown after their career is over.
they should be winning a lot more this season than they have been injuries or not. I just think the Yankees have not lived up to people's expectations trailing in the AL East standings this year.

Gotta agree with Andrew.

Blue Jays have Frank Thomas, AJ Burnett, Roy Halladay, Bengie Molina, Troy Glaus, etc. yet there are struggling to stay near .500. That is underachieving.

I think it's the Phillies..They are loaded offensively with Howard, Rollins, Utley and at times even Burrell. They have been struck by the injury bug but for the last few years there have been high expectations and as of right now they won't make playoffs again. Go INDIANS

the Tigers. probably one of the rare cases in baseball history where a world series runner up wont make it to the playoffs the next year. thats pathetic. They have a good lineup and decent rotation as well. Leyland is a good manager but that team had a letdown year.
