Someone who's very smart if they're paying attention. The Royals have a good nucleus of young talent (Gordon, Teahen, Butler), an improving farm system, a GM who has a proven track record in Dayton Moore, & new owners who are willing to put more money into the team. The Royals are in a very similar place to the Tigers of 3 years ago. Don't sleep on them.
Frank White is familiar to a lot of these guys & has shown that he can win with them. Joe Girardi is probably headed for a bigger job but would be a great pick based on the work he did with a young Florida squad last year. White is most likely the man.

I've got a real feeling it will be Terry Pendleton. He's the hitting coach for Atlanta right now. Dayton Moore has already worked with him when he was with the Braves, and its my understanding that they have a good working relationship. And all those people that think the Royals aren't getting any better and will always be in the cellar must not pay much attention to baseball. I'm a big Royals fan and I've seen so much more improvement under Moore in the last couple years than I have in the last decade.

One of these days Cardinals 3rd base coach Jose Oquendo will be skippering some team. I have considered for about 3 years that with his style of coaching he would be a perfect fit for that young, hopeless Royals team and front office. Hes got Guillen-type energy, but not Guillens foul mouth. Oquendo would be a fantastic player sided manager as well as a 'company man'. He would make a superb go between for players and front office.

Anybody who doesn't mind losing about 90 games or more.
This team is just horrible team, no matter who is the manager they wold always be the lonely Royals nobody cares about this team besides a few of their fans they have.
But George Brett can be their manager but who knows. He will probably make this team just a little better but don't expect improvement. But Brett doesn't want be a manager.

It could be you if you want the job.
Just submit an application. I'm sure you can't do any worse than the previous managers.
