As a huge griffey fan, i would love to say griffey, and i think it would have been comparable, but you cannot throw injuries out the window like that, because that is the reason griffey's stats are not as good as bonds.

consider this...bonds has the most HR all time, most HR in 1 season, most MVPs of all time (by far), like 12 silver sluggers and like 8 gold gloves, one of the highest OBP and most walks ever. I hate bonds more than you can imagine, but he is a damn good player (roids aside)

Griffey is better. with out injuries, Griffey would be pretty close to the same homerun count as bonds if he didn't get hurt. But bonds is raw too, don't get me wrong, i'm a bonds fan. however, i would say that griffey is better all around.

Griffey is much better. You a guy who nailed A-rod at the plate in the all- star game. If you wanted a go- to guy it's so griffey. 15 gold gloves and 593 HRs

Griffey, even though I don't like either one. At least Griffey wasn't a steroid user.

If you take the injuries out, you have to go on pure stats. Bonds leads in HR's SB's BB's RBI's....every offensive category. Griffey has the gold gloves and the smile (but he's still a prick). Neither player has ever been caught doing illegal or banned performance enhancers. So to answer you question of who "is" the better player I would lean slightly towards Griffey for right now (though he just hurt himself again). If you mean you has been a better player for their career...BONDS.
