As much as I want the Yankees to not only catch but also pass the Red Sox and win the AL East, I don't think it's going to happen. There is however, a good chance for that happening, and I believe that the Yankees could accomplish this. The Yankees are building up momentum with a three game winning streak, and they look really confident out there. They have been making great defensive plays, and their offense it practically unstoppable. They have 11 games left in th regular season against teams that are not the greatest, but pretty good: 1 game with Baltimore, 4 game series against Toronto, 3 game series against Tampa Bay, and a 3 game series against Baltimore. The Red Sox on the other hand are not looking too confident. They have lost three straight and are facing a sweep if Toronto wins today. They have 1 less game than the Yankees and are facing Tampa Bay in three, Oakland in two, and Minnesota in four. There's always a chance in baseball, and anything can happen in the 10 and 11 games left in the season for the Red Sox and Yankees respectively. Hopefully the Yankees do clinch the AL East spot.

Think of it this way:
The Sox have 10 left and the Yanks have 11.
If the Sox go 4-6, like they did in their last 10 games and the Yanks go 9-2 like they did in their last 11 games, the Yanks win the division by 2 games.

you don't comprehend how many situations people ask this question. and you don't comprehend how many situations I scream, "sure!" on the seen exhibit unit. sure, the Yankees can capture up. The Yankees turn themselves around by employing the All-celeb activity. They conceal basically adequate floor to make it the international series. They win the WS. it is going to be 27 is 07! The purple Sox, besides the undeniable fact that, go spiralling down. they're doomed! Yankees Love. <3

It is really not that important since both are going to the playoffs. The only downside of going as a wild card is that the other team will have home field advantage. Boston should be able to hold on but stranger things have happened.

I don't think so...I think the Sox will win tonight and carry that momentum into a sweep of the Rays. Sox will win the East!
