Not at all. The main contenders are Prince Fielder, David Wright, Matt Holliday, and Jimmy Rollins.

If Chipper hadn't missed some time and had higher power numbers I'd say he'd have a shot (at least from the perspective of the voters, because that's what they look at). If anything, I'd say Hanley Ramirez has a better shot than Chipper.

If the Brewers and Phillies don't make the playoffs, I'd say Wright gets it. If the Brewers get in, it's hard not to argue with Fielder, despite the fact that Wright has the most win shares. With the Phillies, you have to remember that there's Howard and Utley on that team, although you could make the same argument with Wright/Beltran/Reyes etc. and Fielder/Braun/Hardy.

The thing is it will probably go to a playoff team, and the Braves just aren't one.

How is he the hands down MVP? The Braves might not even make the playoffs.

While he hasn't been mentioned in any MVP talk, I'd give it to Ryan Braun. He made a huge impact as a rookie for the team and has helped keep the Brewers in contention.

Actually, it might be David Wright. If the Braves make the playoffs (they won't) then maybe Chipper will win. But Chipper Jones will win atleast 1 MVP before he retires.

u cant say he'll win hands down cause the braves are not going to make the playoff...that will be a down fall for chipper, i would have to go with david wright as mvp.

Not a chance. He's been hurt and the Braves are out of it.
