I may not be the biggest Cub fan in the world, but I do believe in fairness. Oswalt and "Woodie" wouldn't have given up 16 runs in two games. I smell a rat here. Maybe some revenge against the Cubs? The Reds pitched their two best pitchers against the Cubs. Come on guys. Let's be fair.

Oswalt is out for family reasons, Woody is not getting any younger and the Astros are trying to evaluate the talent level that they have in the minors, they are not obligated to play certain players on certain days. It sucks for the Cubs but it is the way of the league...most teams would still throw out the best guys they have against a contender but they are not obligated to play their best at all, maybe they have a grudge with the Cubs for the Alou signing.

This is similar to what I call, "Scrub Sunday" and the reason I will not attend a game then. Managers put in the "B-Team" to give the "A" guys a rest, usually the day game after a night game. Nobody claims "foul", when only one manager does it. Same principle applies here.

Late in a season, I want my manager (Pirate fan, BTW, so this happens late May), to play the young guys, to see if they have ML talent or to see if they're ready. If not, then the GM knows what the plans are for the off-season. By playing the guys they know what their talent level is, they're not helping the team for next year. Sorry, but, "Tough", if your team loses out in the process, but my manager works for my team. Until they can his @ss, like they did the GM.

Oswalt has left the team for a few days to be with his wife, who is pregnant with their child. Williams, I have no idea why they didn't start williams, but they are intitled to play whomever they want to in order to prepare the young guys for the future (or in this case, to see how bad the young guys are).

I'm a Cubs fan and wasn't happy to hear that.

WA WA WA----Hold your breath and stomp your feet. Are you saying that the Astros and the Reds have it in for the poor Cubs and they like the Brewers ? I doubt it.
