People do work during the week and games are scheduled so soon after rush hour begins to ease. Most of the people like me have 1-hour or more commutes home, this not even including traffic time. During the weekend the stands are packed except on Sunday when people are in church. This is the Bible Belt, remember?!

Also, the South is all about College Football in the Fall. It's interesting that in a place where college football is KING people would bash the fans of Atlanta because they see the stands not filled to capacity during the playoffs. Yeah don't compare New York or any other northern city to Atlanta where college football doesn't mean as much. I'm not even a big college football fan but living in the South (born and raised) I have seen how people try to bash us for lack of participation. Baseball in Georgia is not #1, this belongs to football. I like baseball more but we all have preferences. People forget the fact that we are among the leaders in OVERALL attendance every year

The Braves are my favorite team, and have been since 1994. I mean, they have for sure upcoming HOFs, Maddux will go in a Brave, so will Glavine. Chipper Jones is the all time Braves leader in homeruns, average, and RBI's (Hank got most of his in Milwaukee) and my favorite player, and will go to the HOF. Andruw is a no brainer. Best defensive player in the game and the closest thing to Willie Mays. Youngest player to hit two homeruns in the same World Series game, 8 straight gold gloves, youngest to 300 homeruns, and he's just smooth with it. Best GM in baseball, John Scherhultz. Oh, did I mention HOF Bobby Cox, second most wins among active managers? What about HOF John Smoltz, only pitcher in history with 200 wins and 200 saves? Forget only 1 World title, how about the only organization with 14 straight division titles? Who else has done that? No one. Go Braves!

what happened when shawn merriman got caught using steroids? suspended for 4 games and EVERYONE FORGETS, what happened when there was serious suspicion that lebron james used growth hormones? the media dropped it like a bad habit, they chose to showcase baseball because they think its the least 'physically demanding' sport, HAHA, try playing 162 games in 9 months

its a joke, does anyone else realize this media bias?

If you didn't know better, it might have been a perfect moment. The pitcher, Mike Bacsik, issued his gallant challenge with a fastball on a full count. Bacsik's father, a former big league pitcher himself, had told him to go after Barry Bonds. Don't worry about giving up the big one, he told his son.

Bacsik gave up the big one, of course. Bonds would recall his own father's advice: "Load your back leg." By now, the swing is familiar: a violent swivel of the hips and torso, bat meets ball, redirecting its path in a grand parabola. Ferocious physics. Then, the ecstatic moment, as Bonds raised his arms in triumph. He knew. Everybody knew.
The specially marked ball landed in the right field seats. The network, mercifully ignoring the scrum in the stands, kept the camera focused on Bonds. His trot around the bases was modest, uneventful.....

And I thought the Red Sox/Yankee fans were bad enough (no offense!!)

I seriously thought everyone would stop talking about Bonds the minute...or day after he hit that 756, but I was *dead* wrong.

I can't figure out who's worst, Bonds, or the people who talk about him and post the same thing over and over again.

Is that record rank #1 in your life (considering family and friends)? Because for those people who keep complaining about what Bonds did/didn't do, it seems to be so.

A-Rod will break his record in no time! Hopefully. Some people think Bonds is the best, some say he's a disgrace.

I'm also a big fan of baseball, but *beating a dead horse* really sucks. I really hate seeing Bonds wished to be killed or hurt by numbers of people on Y>A.

Enough of your thoughts on Bonds, what will it take to stop talking about him?

Strip his title?
Death? (Hope not)
Convertion?
Proof? (Negative/Positive)
Few months just go get over?

drugs do you not understand? Yes the man had great eye hand coordinationn already, yes he was a grreat player already, I know. I am talking about the edge he gave himself, the competitive advantage of steroids he gve himself over non steroid user such as his peers and players in the past? Even if it was only a slight advantage it is still an advantage

There have been a few moves by teams during the 100 plus years that the MLB has been around . . . here's a few of them, I want original stadiums, not the ones they had moved from previously, I want the ones they started out in:

Cinncinnati Reds

Pittsburgh Pirates

Brooklyn Dodgers (Now Los Angeles)

Cleveland Indians

Philadelphia Athletics (Now Oakland)

Philadelphia Phillies

Boston Braves (Now Atlanta)

Milwaukee Brewers

Chicago Cubs (that's right, folks, Wrigley Field was not the original home for the Cubs)

New York Giants

New York Mets (Shea was not the original home for the Mets, contrary to popular belief)

Colorado Rockies

and finally

Seattle Mariners

Would he not get the save than.

routine infield pop-up? I say YES, and I hope teams continue to beam him. I'm a lifelong Mariner fan, so I harbor deep resentment towards this traitor. He said all along during the 2000 season with the M's that it wasn't going to be about $, he wanted to go to the team with the most potential, blah blah blah, he spun it every which way but loose, the consumant politician he is, and what did he do, 10 years TX Tom Hicks, 252 million. Do I blame him, No. But you should've heard the crap he was saying to the Seattle media during the 2000 season. He said a billion times it wasn't going to be about the money. He shouldn't have said that. I hate this guy. He is a prissy loser, he gets manicures and pedicures, he has his haircut once a week. No one in baseball likes him. He's the Kobe Bryant of MLB, no friends. Jeter hates his guts.

We all have heard of the exploits of Ryne Sandberg during his 13 plus year career, but what got him into the HOF, the main argument about it is that he never was on a World Series winning team . . . but there have been dozens od players that have gotten in without ever going to a WS.

Was it his defensive accomplishments? 212 straight games without an error of any kind?

Or his awards . . . 13 Gold Gloves at 2nd base, and 13 straight All-Star appearences?

Or do you think that the writers had a heart, and just let him in for no good reason?

Or, was it a combination of things that brought "Ryno" into the HOF?
