what happened when shawn merriman got caught using steroids? suspended for 4 games and EVERYONE FORGETS, what happened when there was serious suspicion that lebron james used growth hormones? the media dropped it like a bad habit, they chose to showcase baseball because they think its the least 'physically demanding' sport, HAHA, try playing 162 games in 9 months

its a joke, does anyone else realize this media bias?

merriman had what, 17 sacks in 12 games? yeah, he could easily brake the sack record at that pace, or tackles record jacked up on roids,

and your at a baseball field everyday longer than any other sport is at their stadium, and while strength might not be as big an issue like football, but seriously, anyone here played more than 35 baseball games in a year? you all underestimate playing a baseball game 26 days a month,

Merriman is an interesting case. It is rather interesting that he got suspended for four games and still made the Pro Bowl. You'd hope that would never happen again.

I'm not sure if it is bias in the media. I think it's more of a case of a different mindset in football and its fans. Fans are rarely surprised when football players are caught taking certain substances, due to the demands of the game. Baseball players, though, are expected to be clean.

Is it because baseball players are normal-sized and the average fan can relate to them? Is there racism involved, because more African Americans play football on a percentage basis?

It's a pretty complicated area, and it's not going to get simpler in the future.

Enough about Bonds! There is NO media bias!. Bonds was taking synthetic type of steroids that there were NOT detectable and also most during a time when there was absolutely NO major league baseball testing program in place. He did the roids' thing so either accept it as a knowm fact or move on to something beyond bor-ing "Old News" about B-A-R-R-Y!!! :+(

i like baseball, but besides swinging a bat, what else is there to do besides the occasional running on the bases? half the time is sitting down, and about 70% of the time on defense you're just standing there. yeah, pitchers work, but then they get 3-4 days off.

bonds is in serious trouble and some of his guys are already in prison. i'm sure if they found any real evidence than he'd be in real trouble..

it's also a deal b/c he just broke the sacred record in sports. if it isn't deleted from the record books there should be a big * by his name...

Believe me, even though Barry Bonds called Mark Ecko an idiot, he couldn't be wiser. For just over 3 quarters of a million dollars, he got WAY more publicity and advertising for his design label than he would have got, had he paid for his advertising alone. Plus, he will be remembered for quite some time as the purchaser of the ball. Much like Seth McFarlane is remembered for purchasing McGuire's single-season record home run ball.
