drugs do you not understand? Yes the man had great eye hand coordinationn already, yes he was a grreat player already, I know. I am talking about the edge he gave himself, the competitive advantage of steroids he gve himself over non steroid user such as his peers and players in the past? Even if it was only a slight advantage it is still an advantage

It is not like it is a big deal,, it is just a game, but the way some of you talk like cheating is no big deal because everyone else was doing it just totally disappoints me. It is like what type of culture are we becoming were cheating is acceptable and in this ccase cheating is being celebrated. I think is is sad indication of what our sports obesssed society is becoming.

The Barry lovers seem to forget this little detail. For Ballzy; He admitted using the cream and the clear. What do you not understand about that?

First according to the "released" testimony from the grand jury Bonds admitted taking something called the "clear" but he thought it was an arthritis balm. We have since learned that it was indeed the name BALCO used for their steroid cream. So whether he knowingly took them or not he did take them. Was Bonds a good player Even without steroids, yes, but only a complete idiot would think he would own the homerun record without using steroids. It had to have allowed him to extend his career by years adding at least 100 HRs to his total. Just look at his last three years. Being under the microscope he has probably stopped using steroids (probably using HGH) and he seems to be falling apart, frequently exiting the game early or not playing at all.

We understand all too well the phrase "performance-enhancing". And if/when Bonds is accused and convicted in a court of law or in baseball testing, then it's likely to be bloody for baseball as a whole.
That said, I fear you are operating under a flawed assumption - that there WASN'T "performance enhancing" in generations past. His Holiness Babe Ruth used a corked bat. Greenies? Yep, those were used for decades in the clubhouse. One of the most dramatic moments in baseball's history - Bobby Thompson's "Shot Heard 'Round The World" - was tarnished by an illegal sign-stealing scheme the Giants were using.
If anyone is to blame for this, blame Selig, blame the press, and ultimately blame us, the fans. If "Game of Shadows" is true, that he started the stuff in 1999, consider what has happened. The best player in the majors for the past decade is ignored and unappreciated. Sosa and Mac get these accolades; Griffey Jr. is named to the All-Century team when he wasn't half the player Bonds was before 1999. Is it any wonder if he simply made himself into what we, as fans, as the press, as the commish's office, wanted in our baseball heroes?
There's an old saying. Be careful what you wish for. We wished for the long ball - and Bonds gave us exactly what we wanted.

And baseball is a competitive enterprise (which inevitably attracts highly competitive people), in which having any such advantage is desirable, operationally necessary, and evident.
Advantages are sought by many different means. Some even go so far as to use those prohibited.
One cannot break a rule which does (or did) not exist.

well the perform part of performance I can understand, because that is what players have to do **every day** to achieve those numbers. If a player is using or not he still has to perform.
Now for the enhance part of enhancement, if it enhances the fans perspective of the game than great. if people think it enhances the ballplayers ability to such a degree that they can become the next homerun king, i think that is wrong.
Have you seen the Gatorade ad about the origin of gatorade, well if that wasn't a performance enhancement ad then i don't know what is. All athletes still use gatorade with its electrolytes today. I think they should not count every record for athletes that used gatorade during any game ever.
where is all this going? if an athlete wants to risk his life to become that great than i say go for it all of them.
good luck to ya

And if Lasik is a slight advantage, then it's still an advantage and in the same class as "performance enhancers"...according to you
EDIT:
No there's no proof that Aaron used a corked bat [which wouldnt help anyway] , but there is proof that he popped amphetamines to break out of a hitting slump. Nobody knows exactly how long he used them though.

Another retarded question because the haters can't stand that he already passed the record up and are in denial. Are they going to seek psychiatric help for their troubles?
Stop lying because steroids will not help you get even a slight edge. Pump yourself with steroids and see for your self. Talking a big game, but not having any proof to back your words up. Pathetic losers, all of you Barry haters.....

So what is it you are asking?
If you are asking how can we support Bonds, not all of us do.
If you are asking how we can say Bonds truely hit more HRs it easy.
756 > 755
If you are asking what advantage steroids do, go find out
