His trainer, Greg Anderson, charged in the BALCO scandal admitted on a secret recording provided to the San Francisco Chronicle that Barry Bonds was using an illegal steroid.
Greg Anderson also said the reason why Bonds never failed a steroid test was because the steroid he was using was untraceable and also that Bonds was tipped off at least two weeks in advance.
Steve Hoskins, Bonds former best friend told investigators that Bonds used steroids and would periodically go into "roid rages."
Bonds himself admitted to using a substance called "the clear" that he believed was not a steroid.
Patrick Arnold, the inventor of "the clear" says that Bonds knew he was taking an illegal steroid.
Equipment managers for the San Francisco Giants have said that his helmet size has changed over the years.
Kimberly Bell, Bonds former mistress says that Bonds told her that he used steroids and that she also noted the affects the illegal drug had on him physically.
In the book Game of Shadows, Bonds is to allegedly having started to take steroids after he saw the publicity that McGwire was getting after his home run chase in 1998. Bonds long suspected that McGwire used steroids and was outraged at the publicity he was receiving.

I think the silence speaks volumes.
If Bonds was innocent, why would his trainer rather sit in prison than testify in court?
Why won’t Bonds sue the authors of "Game of Shadows" if what they wrote is a falsehood?
If Bonds is truly clean, why not take a drug test where the results would be made public?
Why have Bonds’ hat size and FEET (?!?) grown since he’s been in his late 30s? Just look at the difference in his body by looking at photos just as recent as 1995.
Keep fooling yourself. Maybe you believe O.J.’s innocent, too.
Steroids don't help you hit a baseball, but they sure can add a few feet to those fly balls that might have been caught on the warning track without them. Bonds had a marvelous career — it’s a shame he chose to tarnish it so much.

After reading some of these answers and questions. I've found that there has been things that haven't been brought out. Like Bond's head growing almost 2 full sizes. At the age of 37 his season stats got bigger. He admitted taking something that he thought was legal. It's something you place under your tongue. It's called Clear I think. But it's something that baseball dosn't test for. If people can explain these things to me. Than I'd be happy.

Whether he cheated or not is irrelevent. Like McGwire, Sosa, et al, it was legal throughout the 90s, so arguing about it now is pointless. The fact that he has been and still is a big jerk is why I can't stand the guy!
That's why I'm glad the record is broken. I was getting sick and tired of Giants games and Barry-Watches 24/7.
Wake me up in about 10-15 years when Albert Pujols reaches 800! :)

I've been waiting for this time. and I'm glad I was able to witness it. No matter what any one says, Barry is the best all time baseball player and everyone who says he's not, JUST GET OVER IT AND FACE IT> He has come a long way and I hope he continues more home runs to show all you people he is all time greatest! Barry is also a very nice person and the media is a different story. They have hyped up more about the steroids than needs to be. BELIEVE in BARRY< because I do.

I AM! I'm sick of people getting a bad rap cuz its sells papers and makes people stop flipping threw the channels.
Innocent until proven guilty. Barry is clean as far as the standing rules go.
No rules broken: Not a Cheater.

im with you. i am happy that bonds broke the record and i love seeing people pissed off about it because they think he cheated to break it. that may be true, but the pitchers pitching against bonds most likely used steroids too. bonds plays in at&t, the hardest park to hit HRs. steroids dont help with hand eye coordination or plate discipline which is more important than raw power. and i love how people say aaron did it with class when he admitted to taking amphetamines, some class huh?
bonds is the greatest player ever and the best HR hitter and most feared hitter of all time.
