As you know, the YANKEES are now 4 back, after being a dismal 14.5 back ( it was tough times back then), and we all remember and i bet you the Red Sox fans remember Bucky '' fucki.n '' Dent, and last year with the '' Boston Massacre III '' with the 5 game sweep, now its 2007 and with the Yankees on Hot Cheetos times 390438 fire, its shaping up to be the Boston Massacre IV, Red Sox fans were cheering and being boastful when the Yankees were down 14.5 games, now that were catching up they are getting nervous, biting their fingernails, saying their prayers and taking their vitamins. Its only a matter of time before the Yankees catch the BoSox, the only challenge in our way is those damned always tough pain in the a.ss Angels, Come on RedSox fans its all adding up like last year, David '' Big Papi '' Ortiz is struggling/sore in the dog days of summer while the Yanks have been surging. And yes the Yankees will remain hot, and will make the playoffs wild card or AL East, BOSTON MASSACRE IV!

what is with everyone always moaning and b*tching about who the yankees have and how much money they've got? i bet you wouldnt' be saying that if your team had that kind of money. at least steinbrenner spends his money he makes on the team to make them better. the st louis cardinals make MILLIONS in the past couple years from the final season at the old busch to the season at the new busch stadium...PLUS dont forget how much they made in the world series..would you like to tell me who they have spent their hard earned money on in the off season? not pitching i can tell you that. they moved i think 3 relief pitchers into the starting rotation! how rediculous is that!?!? cardinals owners are probably sitting on some islands down in the carribean right now as the team sucks a**. alls i can say is..at least the yankees spend their money on the team to win more. plus, steinbrenner donated a million dollars to virginia tech.

Houston or St. Louis could technically be considered WEST, at least enough to get things evened out. They switched teams and leagues a few times in the name of evening out the divisions, why this unevenness? Does anyone know anything about this?

Ok, let's say your American League Baseball team has a reliever who hits better than most of your regular guys, you use him as your DH.

Late in the game you need him as a specialist for a particular batter. Can he enter the game as the pitcher? If so, can he come to bat the next time that spot is up? I assume so.

So what if he gets his guy, and another reliever is put in. Does that guy HAVE to hit in the DH/pitcher spot, or could you pinch-hit for the pitcher spot, and go to another reliever?

Last question: Would there be any way to use a position player/ hitter AFTER your DH/ pitcher entered the game as a pitcher? Or would it turn into NL rules?

Think about it and give me your thoughts, opinions, or knowledge on the subject.

Runner on third, no one out. Batter hits a fly ball to deep right field. The runner tags up. The right fielder, knowing the run will score as soon as he official catches the ball, starts juggling the ball while running toward the plate (he's a good juggler). He gets to the infield and finally takes possession of the ball, so the runner can't in theory leave third.

I couldn't find a rule against this in a quick search of the book, but I would guess it would be considered an attempt to deceive the runner and would be illegal -- batter out, but runner allowed to score.

Opinions?

I've been told that it is because a team hasn't played as many games as the team that is ahead. well that's fine if a team has played more games but they are a whole game ahead because they played an extra game. there is no such thing as a half a game, unless the game is in progress. you either have a full game or no game. there is no such thing as a half a game. Maybe this so many games and a half behind needs to change. I've told this to many people and they agree with me and don't understand it other than that is how people refer to it as. I've never head in any other sports when a team is behind. that "they need 4 1/2 points to make the playoffs" as in hockey, or i've never heard that in football term being used in football either.

If the ball is it at the shortstop too high for him or her to jump and catch it. Is it legal to throw their glove in the air to knock it down to prevent a double play?

I mean come on the yankees since the allstar break have played teams that none of which are over .500, they have the orioles coming up, then 14 against the angels, tigers, and red sox. The sox still have 6 games against them, the red sox are now going on their stretch of crappy teams, while the yankees are facing the tougher part of their schedule. All in all, the sox could win the division by about 7 games, more if ortiz' hitting comes around.

41 HR's in 2004, 47 HR's in 2005, 54 HR's in 2006 and this year he has ONLY 19. What's up with that? He appears to be the same size as he was, so I don't feel like he's been on roids or anything. Is he just slumping this year? The Red Sox don't pay him 10 million a season to hit 19 HR's.

he took steriods and is lazy on all other aspects then hitting. After he took steriods he wasn't a gold glove outfielder because he is to fat and slow, doesn't care about the teams he just cares about himself and getting his homeruns, I think A-rod wil break the record and people will talk about it more then when Bonds did.

First, this is not about if the Blue Jays should have been suspended too.

Torre apparently told Clemens to hit Alex Rios, and he only got a one-game suspension. He should have gotten for the same or a higher number of games.

If Clemens ignored the order, his punishment by the team would have been worse. It's like giving a killer a worse sentence than the intellectual author of the crime.
