what is with everyone always moaning and b*tching about who the yankees have and how much money they've got? i bet you wouldnt' be saying that if your team had that kind of money. at least steinbrenner spends his money he makes on the team to make them better. the st louis cardinals make MILLIONS in the past couple years from the final season at the old busch to the season at the new busch stadium...PLUS dont forget how much they made in the world series..would you like to tell me who they have spent their hard earned money on in the off season? not pitching i can tell you that. they moved i think 3 relief pitchers into the starting rotation! how rediculous is that!?!? cardinals owners are probably sitting on some islands down in the carribean right now as the team sucks a**. alls i can say is..at least the yankees spend their money on the team to win more. plus, steinbrenner donated a million dollars to virginia tech.

fenway, the only reason why i speak of the cardinals is because i live in st louis, and i think it is pathetic how the owners have done absolutely nothing to make the team better with all that money the made.

For the first half of the season Yankee haters had a field day at the Yankee fans expense. Now that they are winning again they want to act like whiny babies crying about payroll how they beat bad teams the other teams had colds etc etc u know the deal.

I respect the Yankees, and am one of the few non Yankees fans that actually likes the Yanks (when theyre not playing the Indians).
George "The Boss" Steinbrenner is incredible. I think people forget about how much money the Red Sox have too. The Yankees payroll is $199,000,000, and the Red Sox have about $130,000,000. Thats a good amount, so people need to give the Yanks a break. Theyve earned that massive payroll with all their success.

I'm a yankee fan and you are the only person here who is making sense. Yankees earn their money and use it the right way. Maybe if these other teams shut up, get good, and win some games, but not too much,then they would know how to build a good team and wouldn't care about how other teams spend $, because they know they are doing the same. I love baseball because their is no sallary cap and because it uses capitalism, the American way.

the yanks have 6 of 9 home grown players on the field sumtimes 5 of 9 w/ pitchers changing and the most of the mets are bought free agents so all those ppl who bit.ch about yanks and money r are just stupid

people love success, but people hate too much success (or the appearance thereof).
love him or hate him, Steinbrenner is committed to his team and reinvests in them; if other owners did likewise the funding gap wouldn't be such an issue.

i agree with what you said if you are spending youir profits to make your team better what is the harm in that. if managers spent more of their profits then maybe they would make even more profits. it always teams that have done less fortunate than the yankees who are complaining.
