1986-2005, Palmeiro hit, 3,020 hits, 585 Doubles, 1,835 RBI's, 1,663 Runs Scored and .288 BA. Those numbers make his a virtual lock, however, with his dirty test his final season in 2005 with the Baltimore Orioles, will that wipe out his entire career? He always seemed to be the same size his entire career, 6' 185#, always had that mustache, just seemed like a normal guy, I would've never thought he was juicing. He had 10 years of hitting more than 30 HR's and 100 RBI's, amazing consistency, and never really had a freakish year like 73 HR's for Bonds in 2001. Just a model of consistency. He was mentioned in Jose Canseco's book and Jose's allegations have come to fruition with Palmeiro. Raffy would be the first player ever to hit 500 HR's and 3000 hits and not make the Hall. What can he do to repair his image to eventually make the Hall? or does he have no shot? Also, why should Bonds make it (Bonds was a juicer) and not Raffy?

and played with the Houston Astros his entire career. He hit 2,314 hits, 488 Doubles, 449 HR's, 1,529 RBI's and .297 BA. Of course there are going to be the steroid allegations, but the way I look at it is this, if you are going to let Barry Bonds and Sammy Sosa in, which they both will probably be locks, then perhaps you have to eventually let guys like Bags in, what do you think? Personally, I say no. The guy was only 6' tall 195# and he hit bombs like McGwire did. He played for years with Ken Caminiti, who was a juicer, and I always was suspicious of Bags, but like I said, if you're going to let in Bonds, you have to let in all the other juicers.

For example, Kevin Costner in "For Love of the Game" sure looked like he was throwing a no-hitter.... while Willam Bendix in "The Babe Ruth Story" looked like he had never even been to baseball game let alone ever played in one!

Most likely it is a character from a movie or television show about baseball.

And PLEASE don't say give me any "A Clean Barry Bonds."

I am trying to instigate some friendly chatter amongst us baseball fans.

Oh, they are a lock for the World Series. They have an unbeatable bullpen with Gagne, and Hicklehemo or whatever his name is, Pisslebon and that great starting rotation. Just an Unbeatable squad. At this rate, they will be lucky if they make the playoffs. Here come DA YANKS!

Everyone picks at people like Barry Bonds and they talk about what a jerk Albert Belle was. Then when a question comes up about the Hall of Fame or MVP or Cy Young or whatever, the answer seems to include "he was a jerk" or "he set a bad example for kids." All right, if that matters, can you think of some cases where being a GOOD example puts a guy over the line into deserving the hall or an award?
There's Ernie Banks, of course, who would have made the hall anyway and won two MVPs. And there's Kirby Pucket, who at times made Banks seem like a depressive. But what about some border-liners.
As an example, Tim Raines is coming up for a Hall vote. He has the best lifetime stolen base % lifetime and was a great player. After early drug problems, he turned his life and game around and became one of the best upbeat guys in the game. Should this help him get in?
Can you think of any other players like this? Do you think being a positive image and great should give a guy an edge?

He is so bad with the red sox

he blew the lead vs the O's. (Idk, why Francona took out Okajima)

after his last pitching performance (1/3, 4 ER)

b4 that, 1 IP, 0 ER, but did give up a hit and a walk

and then his debut 1 IP, 1 ER, 2 H

What is wrong with him?

Pressure of Boston? the set up role?

Alot of buzz has come out about records with the historic weekend we just had. I have my opinion but I want to know what you think. Which record, just one, will never be broken. In your eyes?

In 1938 Johnny Vander Meer threw back to back no hittters. To accomplish the task of breaking this record you would have to toss 3 consecutive no-no's. YIKES! At-a-boy Mr. Vander Meer! If it wasnt for a shortened carear due to military obligation you would have had some above average statistics Im sure!

In 1978 Ron Guidry should have won the MVP and didn't. Albert Belle in 1995 had no real competition and wasn't voted MVP by the writers. Who do YOU think was shafted in any given year?
