Rodriguez has hit 39 HR in 422 AB this year, in 114 games.

The Yankees have 46 games left to play, so let's assume he has about 170 AB left. As this rate, he should get about 16 left between now and the end of the year, and he should average around 52 if he plays every day, and at this rate.

But, that doesn't answer the question. So, we'll go more into stats. The 95% confidence interval his the HR in the next 46 games is 8-23. So, there's a 95% chance that he'll get somewhere between 8 and 23 HR in the last 46 games.

That brings to a season total somewhere between 47 and 62 HR. There is a 2.5% chance he'll hit more than 62 if he plays every day, so the odds of coming to 74 are very small.

I think he has a legitimate chance to get to 60 maybe even break the yankees single season record and what some consider the major league record but 74 is pushing it.

no one ought to coach (till we get drug sorting out and Testosterone point checked in blood pattern) i've got faith long island followers could commerce seventy 4 residing house runs for extra or less 6 October HR's that are available the right time. I honestly have faith A-Rod will only hit approximately fifty 5 this one year inspite of the undeniable fact that and inspite of each and every thing that they are going to nonetheless boo him while he strikes out 10 cases this post season

You should get slapped for asking a stupid question like this

it took him 106 games to reach 39

your asking if he can hit another 35 in 56 games?

a better question would ask if he reached 60

which i think he will get around 58

Impossible. There's only 40 something games left. He'll be lucky to get to 50, maybe 52 or so.

74 homers seems out of reach. Id love to see him do it but its most likely not gonna happen. He has a chance of beating 57 which is his best.

No chance. He's only halfway there with less than a third of the season left to go.

Not very likely. There's barely six weeks left, and he's still below 40. I'd guess a mid-50s, 55 HR finish. (No, that's not very bold; just realistic.)
