I would much rather the Mets, but I think that both teams will make the playoffs. The Yankees have been very strong since the All Star Break and the Mets are holding on by a thread in their division. They will have trouble staying in first with the Phillies and Braves on their heels and they also have the same amount of making the playoffs as not making them. I still think both teams have a really good chance of making the playoffs.

They will both make the playoffs. The Mets will win the division and right now it's unclear if the Yankees will get into the playoffs by getting the wild card (tied for first with Seattle) or winning the division (2nd, 4 games behind Boston). Hopefully we'll get to see a Subway Series. I'm a New Yorker.

The both have good teams but the clear favorite has emerged since the all star break and that would be the yankees. They were asleep for the first half and have finally turned it on. They have been smacking the ball and the pitching that scared every yankee fan has got it going now. The addition of the two young studs were better than any trade out on the open market. As of today they are 4 games out of first but they have a tough schedule for the next few weeks and this will make or break them.
As for the mets they have been doing well. A few of the bats that were asleep finally woke up. The key for them down the stretch will be the pitching. Will this hold up for them? The GM Minaya took a risk and did not pull the trigger on any trades and said that he was sticking with what he had. I hope that works out for him. Another issue will be if they can hold off the Braves and Phillies? They both went out and picked up a few players at the deadline to help out the clubs. The mets will have there hands full with the both of them.
This is our favorite time of year and we can only wait it out. I only hope that it is the Red Sox sitting at home in October and the Yankees hoisting another AL East championship flag!

Mets, yes. Yankees maybe. The Mets should win over the Braves and Phillies by at least five games. The Yankees don't have enough pitching to beat out the Bosox for first place, so they need to squeak in the wild card spot. This year should be like last year with the exception the Mets get into the World Series. If Pedro returns in full form and full steam, the Mets have a good chance of winning it all.

Both teams will make the playoffs. They both have stiff competition, so I can't say if they will make it to the series but it ought to be interesting.
