As you know, the YANKEES are now 4 back, after being a dismal 14.5 back ( it was tough times back then), and we all remember and i bet you the Red Sox fans remember Bucky '' fucki.n '' Dent, and last year with the '' Boston Massacre III '' with the 5 game sweep, now its 2007 and with the Yankees on Hot Cheetos times 390438 fire, its shaping up to be the Boston Massacre IV, Red Sox fans were cheering and being boastful when the Yankees were down 14.5 games, now that were catching up they are getting nervous, biting their fingernails, saying their prayers and taking their vitamins. Its only a matter of time before the Yankees catch the BoSox, the only challenge in our way is those damned always tough pain in the a.ss Angels, Come on RedSox fans its all adding up like last year, David '' Big Papi '' Ortiz is struggling/sore in the dog days of summer while the Yanks have been surging. And yes the Yankees will remain hot, and will make the playoffs wild card or AL East, BOSTON MASSACRE IV!

Ahh yes our first hater, one thing i said that we are making the playoffs, i said AL East or Wild Card, and I'd rather have Chamberlain pitching in the 8th inning in game seven of the world series than have Eric '' The Big Choke '' Gagne who has had 3 bad outings with a great Red Sox team ( i'll admit ) and have Mariano ''Mo' Rivera who had one bad outing in his last 19 saves today, shut the door.

I remember a time browsing through yahoo answers where 85% of the people on here doubted the yankees and were saying they would never come back. I've stuck with them all year and now look where we're at.. An amazing comeback to the yankees, and i still have them picked for the division..

Come on, it had to come down to this. The Yankees, with their black hats and hired guns, the Red Sox, the Pale Rider with no name. The Yankees gunned down the marshall in 1978, 1999, 2003 and 2006. The High Plains Drifter shot down the bad guys after appearing dead in 2004. This is great drama whether you like the Red Sox, Yankees or just are a fan of baseball. Will Beckett, Schilling, Matsuzaka and Wakefield hold off Wang, Pettite, Mussina and Hughes? The only real issue is why aren't all of the games on ESPN, FOX and for that matter Armed Forces Radio?

first of all anyone who says Rivera is a chokeo knows nothing about baseball or they are a redsox fan which pretty much says the same thing they know nothing about baseball. they drink their koolaid and their famous chant is wait til next year. i know 2004 was a big deal for them. However it has been over 12 years since they last won the division. If it was not for the wild card the redsox would never see postseason. so we shall see they play 6 more times and the Yankees have won the last 4-6 and that was before Clemons, so drink your koolaid redsox fans cuz that way you can say your mantra wait til next year. Go Yankees, we have a good starting a little shaky on middle relief, but our offense should carry them to the divisional title again.

Excellent post and some good repsonses from knowledgable fans. We have come full circle this year. We were terrible but we never gave up. Torre took all the heat and is quietly trying to get us to the top of the division and yet another post season appearance. I am really proud to be a Yankee fan. We have a tough month to deal with but if the 1st four games are any indication, we will be in great position going into September. Go Yanks!

you're right about the whole 14.5 to 4 thing, altho, we really would be 6 up if it wasn't for gagne. (btw, he had more than three bad outings, but only 2 really cost us. i think.) but it was to be expected. though we were loving 14.5 lead, any red sox fan who thought it would last for the whole season isn't the brightest person in the world. yea, i have faith the red sox can still keep the lead, but the yankees are the yankees, which means it isn't over till it's over.

Bosox fans are regretting the arrival of Gagne.
they were soo happy that the Yanks couldnt even try to get him.
But Cashman knew what he was doing.
the result is that the yanks are winning, the boxos are choking
Gagne 15 ERA in what, 4 innings?
Joba is yet to give up a run in his mlb career.
typical red sox. any time they see the yanks in the rear view, they are bound to panic.
Division, 1 boston massacre away . . . . time for the red sox to hit the panic button.

Yeap, Yeap, the Sox are going down. I haven't heard much about the Gagne trade.
and what about Chamberlain for NY, he is amazing! He's much better than Gagne and he's 21 yrs old.
It's time for NY to Massacre the Sox once again!!!!!

Please keep in mind that you're 4 games behind...four freakin' games.
You Yankee fans are acting like you're in first place by a dozen...
Eaze up a bit. Suddenly Chamberlain and Hughes are the next Rivera and Pettite...after about five major league appearnances.
The question is...with the game on the line in the ninth...who do you want...Mari-choko or Chamberlame...
