I've never been a Yankees fan, but I'm so rooting for A-Rod to stay healthy and get it done by the time he's 40.

Now than Ken Griffey Jr seems to be making a nice comeback after all those injury-ridden years in Cincinnati, I'd like to see him bow out with class and dignity . . . and retire with the all-time HR record. Time was, back in the mid-1990s with the Mariners, he was the most feared guy on the diamond. (and then his ex-teammate A-Rod would break it a few years later, if a-Rod's health held up.)

It's still early in his career, but I'd be very happy for Albert Pujols if he, too, passed Barry Bonds.

I'm 26 years old and unfortunaly lost my grasp of playing ball after a semester in college due to financial difficulties. Has anyone had any actual experience in open tryouts? I really wanted to get back into the game, I have played through out the years just nothing too too competitive. I looked into independent leagues but those are mostly back east. I live in southern Calif. I have noticed a lot of open tryouts have age restrictions as well, ie. max age 23. If you have the talent but are held back by age restrictions how else would you be able to go about being noticed? If anyone has any real helpful info that would be greatly appreciated. Any of those with negative answers need not post. And is it even fisable for me to hold on to the dream, or is whats done...done? Thank you for any help.

I think it makes perfect sense. A-Rod could be the new face of the Giants when Barry leaves. We need to cut away all the old fogeys and get some new blood.

Kendall got traded to the Cubs for Rob Bowen and Jerry Blevins. Its just what alot of the A's fans wanted ,Kendall out + Crosby + Kotsay, but we havent gotten there yet.Personally i thought Jason Kendall didnt really contribute offensively ,and often critisized him ,but now that he's out im kinda sad .Im gonna have to get used to him not seeing his face behind home plate, in back of the hitter.Oh well.

As a giants fan, I constantly bang my head against the wall because of the fact that we are paying "superstar" Barry Zito $18 million dollars a year for a 4.90 ERA, while relative unknowns Noah Lowry, Matt Cain, and Matt Morris each have an ERA close to 3.50 and don't get paid nearly that much. Is there a way to find out how much the "everyday" (i.e. consistent) players get paid?

MLB has only the commissioner Bud Selig whose had owned Milwaukee Brewers. Bug brought the team from Seattle as bring back to Milwaukee to change the Pilots to Brewers. He was the fan of Braves in Milwaukee during his life before Braves moved to Atlanta. He owned that team until he became the commissioner in 1992. In 2005, he sold the Brewers to the Brown alumni. His daughter had the fails to own the Brewers as most fans are booed at her as their owner.
