I think it makes perfect sense. A-Rod could be the new face of the Giants when Barry leaves. We need to cut away all the old fogeys and get some new blood.

i think a-rod will go to who ever offers the most money. i dont know the situation with san fran's money, but if they offer big money he will go. so yes it is a possibility.

Ehh. Its a possibility. But that would mean Bonds would HAVE to retire at the end of this season and from what i know he mite play through 08'. There are only a few select teams that can afford him.

-BoSox if they let go of Schilling, Lowell, and ManRam
-I hear the Rangers have the money to possibly make a run for him
-Detroit is also a possibility
-Yankees obviously
-there are a few more that I cant think of off the top of my head

If he wants money he'll resign w/ the Yankees during the season thus getting him about 32mil a year for 7 yrs i think. I'm not really sure about the amount of years but I'm pretty sure w/ the Rangers still picking up some of his salary that if the Yanks resign him before he opts out he'll get anywhere from 30mil to 32mil.

The most likely scenario is that A-Rod will end up on the Angels, as they are the only team who could sign him and still have enough cap room to keep their core players. The Yankees don't want to pay the rest of his salary, Boston is still trying to pay for Daisuke Matsuzaka, and San Francisco doesn't have anywhere near the amount of cap room to sign him. He might also end up on the White sox, as they have been saving up for years despite their status as a "low market" team. The Cubs are another possibility with Lou Piniella as their manager, but unless the new owners are willing to shell out the amount of money it would take to sign A-Rod (Mark Cuban could and would), then A-Rod to the Cubs is a fantasy. In answer to your question, A-Rod wouldn't be caught dead in a Giant's uniform.

It will never happen. I believe A-Rod wants a new ten year contract with the Yankees and is putting a little pressure on Steinbrenner to get it done. What better place to be as a player trying to bring back the homerun record, by a player, to New York where Yankee fans believe it belongs. The New York fans will rally around A-Rod as he moves closer and I believe he wants to finish his career in New York.

I don't think that the Giants would put out the amount of cash that A-Rod would command.

Ain't gonna happen. The hypocrite Red Sox will sign him after he opts out of his contract with the Yankees.

Bring him to detroit. slide guillen to first let a-rod play ss like he was prior to the yankees. i would love for illitch to fork over a quarter billion for a player. since previous years unlike last he did nothing for the tigers.

i doubt it a rod wants 2 win and the giants have not won 2 much l8ly and barry zito is doin bad expecially 4 wat hes gettin paid 4 if they get rid of him they might get him... there hitting line up is old so they would end up bein just like the yankees this season i dont think he would go 2 the giants

He's staying with the Yankees because noone else can afford to pay him that rediculous amount of money.
