There is no doubt that Bonds was the superior player. Many people seem to be basing their responses on personality, not facts. By virtue of being on base so often Bonds created more runs in his prime than Griffey did. Griffey has always been far more popular with fans (as these answers demonstrate), but popularity is irrelevant. Bonds is among the top 5 players of all time. Griffey isn't.

Without hesitation: Ken Griffey, Jr.
Bonds has been a headcase his whole career, bad with the media, awful towards fans & generally a jerk overall and he sucks in the outfield
Griffey has been the opposite and would be chasing Aaron this season also had it not been for his health issues. Too bad, I think having Griffey pass Aaron would be something everyone would want to see. Instead that distinction will go to one of the worst people ever in baseball

Hands down, Ken Griffey Jr. Had he stayed healthy, Junior Griffey would have been the greatest player in MLB history.

I would take Griffey in his prime. Griffey always had the power numbers that Bonds lacked earlier in his career, but he had the speed and defense to match Bonds. Plus Griffey is a better guy with the media and seems to be a better clubhouse guy. Knowing what we know about Griffey's injuries it is tough to choose him but if you could have him without the injuries I think it's an easy choice.

They were both great players. Griffey was better before the juice. But the numbers Bonds put up in those 3 or 4 unbelievable seasons is unmatched by anyone in our time, with his OBP and slugging.. 500 steals,, gold glove,, i hate to say it, but definately Bonds,,
Although Griff had a couple good playoff years in Seattle.. but Bonds is notorious for crapping out in the playoffs..
Still bonds..
Plus bonds played his whole career in huge ballparks..
His "prime" (wether juiced inhanced or not) is unmatched accept for maybe Babe Ruth

griffey is a team player and doesnt bring the negative attention that bonds does to the team. he reached the hr mark hes at quicker than bonds did so he would be the better power hitter for sure.

Have it my way or i quit Griffey really he took less money to play where he wanted to play. Just because he didn't want to play in the crap hole that is Seattle doesn't mean he was a cry baby. Who would want to play there lets take a little look A-rod... nope he will pass... Randy Johnson... he will choose somewhere else as well. maybe and just maybe its the organization that stinks. that said if Griffey were to stay healthy i would take him over anybody all time he is one of the greatest to ever play

Having lived and worked in the Seattle area when Griffey made his debut and during his career with the Seattle Mariners, I would have to say I would rather have Barry Bonds on my team over the cry-baby, got to have it my way or I'll quit Ken Griffey Jr.

Griffey for his attitude if not anything else. Bonds was a big jerk even before he started cheating.
