I only ask this because I was at tuesday's Sox Yankees game. I'm a Sox fan, and I wore my jersey. I can take the ribbing from Yankee fans, alot of them were good sports, but there were a few of them that resorted to personal attacks when the Sox were winning. Some even had tears in their eyes because of the trash talking they did before the game, and now having to eat their words. I just cheered louder when the Sox did well, so I ask, if you can't handle your team losing, why go to the game? There is a 50/50 chance of loss or win.

1. Your team has the bases loaded with no outs and hitters 3,4,5 up batting down by one and they do not score a single run. They do not hit into a double play either.

2. The starting pitcher tosses a gem for 72/3 innings with none left on base when he leaves, up 4-0 only to have the relief staff come in and give up 5 runs.

3. Some guy batting .105 comes off the bench ice cold who is 0 and 23 lifetime against your closer and hits the game tying home run in the bottom of the 9th with 2 outs. DOH!

4. Your team is up 4-0 with two outs and the count is 0-2 on the current batter. You figure the inning is over and you go to get a snack and when you come back the score is 4-4 same inning with two outs. You gotta be kiding right?

I know every one will say Babe Ruth, but the fact is Ted Williams missed 5 years of baseball due to WW2 and Korea, at a time when he was speculated to average 35 to 40 hr's a year. So with that, who is the greatest of all time? (It's ok, you can include Joe Jackson and Pete Rose, I'm not part of the Hall committee.)

I believe A-Rod is a great player and I respect his abilities, how could you not with the numbers he puts up. However, if you watch him he always seems to be in the middle of controversy the way he playes the game. Once again, the other night against Boston, his slide into second base on a force play was brought into question when he came up with his arms flying and kept Boston second baseman Dustin Pedroia from throwing the ball to first base for a double play. This is not just a question about A-Rod and it is not a question about the Yankees vs Red Sox. Is it okey to do whatever you have to do to win the game, and is this a good lesson for our children?

What do you think? This would be a non-life threatening injury of course, which would force him to retire and not allow him to break the home run record. Would you wish for a thing like that?

The video of fans running with Hank Aaron as he rounds the bases will be forever shown for as long as baseball is played. These fans will be shown as well. Would you want the same for you as Barry rounds the bases? Sure, you'll pay a huge penalty for doing so but it's not like it's a felony or anything. Oh yeah, you'll be remembered every damn time the video is shown for the rest of your life!
