i think he will not be signed.
If he does, it does not have 2 be a lot, in Japan he makes about 2 mil, so the sox can offer him 5 mil a year, and that would still be a better offer than going bac 2 japan for 2 more years , for Daisusaka right?

Jeters a great guy we all know that. But he just had WAY to many talent around him. Whoever say's Yankees have been injured have no sense in the brain at all. They had Bobby, Damon, Alex, Jason, Canoe, and OMG who don't that have?

The Twins barely spend any money on people, why? i dont know.

But what does Morneau have? Mauer (who tends to run into ALOT of double plays) Torri (Okay he's another great player) but that's it! Jason Tyner, Bartlett, can't hit HR, Michael Cuddyar (How do you spell this guys name?) get him into a 2 strike position and he'll swing at anything.

Justing had better fielding, more hr, rbi, and 5th in al in batting average.

Only die hard yankee fans would say Jeter deserved MVP.

What? A division title, and 26 Rings not good enough? You had your bragging rights and now it's over. Just shut up, let someone else shine.

We cub fans don't think soriano is the only reason we have a chance. we need pitching but we have an increased payroll for that. Plus the NL centural is very weak. our team looks strong but everybody whining about pitching when they haven't even focused on it. now the will and hopefully get some good ones. we have the toughest day games so we also need a strong bench. there are truely more reasons we can make the playoffs besides soriano.
Does anyone agree.

Derek Jeter, in my opinion, is the American League's Most Valuable Player. His captain status, extraordinary statistics, fielding percentage, and overall impact for the New York Yankees is why he should of gotten it. What are your opinions? thanks.

2006-11-21 11:30:28 · 28 answers · asked by jumanji 2

Here is your answer:

JETER DIDN'T DESERVE IT! THE ONLY REASON HE RECIEVED SO MANY POINTS IS BECAUSE OF NY WRITERS RIGGING IT! IT HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE MVP BEGAN!

Do your research. So many writers are from New York, and once again it looks like they have ALL favored Jeter. Thats the only reason he was so close. Jeter should have been ranked from #5-#10 in the AL. The only reason he was so close is the writers want a big Yankee name to win the MVP. Not Travis Hafner or David Ortiz.

Jeter wasn't as great as the ignorant yankee fan thought he was. He was a solid player, but not MVP worthy. Maybe close, but several people would have beaten him for second place if it weren't for the BIASED NY WRITERS:
David Ortiz, Travis Hafner, Frank Thomas, Jermaine Dye, Johan Santana (came in sixth I believe), Joe Mauer. I am guessing most of Jeter's points came from NY writers. SO SHUT UP, STOP WHINING, AND FACE THE FACTS. THE WRITERS MADE THE RIGHT DECISION.

"While I know that voting for these awards is primarily based on differing opinions and statistical debates, it's also part of what makes baseball such a great sport," Jeter said in a statement released by the Yankees.

"Having said that, I'm flattered and honored to have been considered for the American League Most Valuable Player Award. I want to congratulate Justin Morneau on this well-deserved honor. He is a special player, and I suspect this won't be the last time you will hear his name mentioned when awards are being passed out.

"You've heard me say it a thousand times, but winning the World Series for the New York Yankees continues to be my main focus. There is no individual award that can compare with a championship trophy, and I look forward to working towards that challenge again in 2007."

So typical Jeter......

That's why he's a MVP everyday!

can there also be a "walk-off" base hit?

2006-11-21 10:52:00 · 14 answers · asked by Davey 2

Morneau had good stats, but he plays in a state that most people never heard of. Who, besides Jeter, could do what he does on the biggest, brightest stage on Earth. That's alright. Jeter and I are about TEAM championships that are decided on the field, not individual awards decided by some crack smoking, Yankee hating sports writers.
Real fans know the best player in baseball is DE-REK!!! JE-TER!!!
