Jeters a great guy we all know that. But he just had WAY to many talent around him. Whoever say's Yankees have been injured have no sense in the brain at all. They had Bobby, Damon, Alex, Jason, Canoe, and OMG who don't that have?

The Twins barely spend any money on people, why? i dont know.

But what does Morneau have? Mauer (who tends to run into ALOT of double plays) Torri (Okay he's another great player) but that's it! Jason Tyner, Bartlett, can't hit HR, Michael Cuddyar (How do you spell this guys name?) get him into a 2 strike position and he'll swing at anything.

Justing had better fielding, more hr, rbi, and 5th in al in batting average.

Only die hard yankee fans would say Jeter deserved MVP.

What? A division title, and 26 Rings not good enough? You had your bragging rights and now it's over. Just shut up, let someone else shine.

Maybe because no one made it from the Yankees and they thought someone would because they're like a million dollar team.

Jeter should have been MVP...

Morneau wasn't even MVP of his own team, let alone the league.

Jeter led the Yanks to the best record in the American League (and don't forget, MVP voting is completed at the end of the regular season, so post-season play has nothing to do with it)...he held the team together with Matsui, Shefield and Cano missing major playing time with injuries...not to mention the fact that their pitching was terrible....

Morneau won because he drove in 130 runs...but Jeter scored 118...runs scored has always been an underrated statistic, even though you hear announcers and sportswriters talk a lot about how important it is for the top two hitters to get on base (Jeter was 4th in OBP)

Jeter also won the Gold Glove at the most important position. So Justin did not have better fielding numbers.... and while Justin was 7th (not 5th) in batting average, Jeter was 2nd...

During the last four World Championship seasons of the Yankees, the MVP awards went to the Texas Rangers (three times), and the Oakland A's (once)....there is a bias against the Yankees when it comes to MVP voting, and Jeters chances were hurt by A-Rod's winning the award last year... A-Rod was the only Yankee to win the MVP award (2005) during their 11 year run as division champions...

Justin Morneau is a very talented player no doubt but did he have a season better than Jeter?, no way. I keep seeing everyone speak of him having all this talent surrounding him. Well for most of the season he really didn't. Matsui and Sheffield got hurt in the early part of the season. Cano was out for 6 weeks, Damon was out for stretches and A-rod had a sub A-rod year. They did'nt get Abreu until the All-star break and he had a terrific second half. Look at Jeter's stats for the entire year. He was consistently brilliant. He battled Mauer for the batting title all the way until the last week. He hit 97 RBI's for a number 2 batter and that's tough to do. Okay he didn't have the power that Morneau had but he's not the type to hit HR's. If it wasn't for a sports writer at the Bergen Record in NJ voting him 6th Jeter would have won the award.
What it really comes down to is who cares anyway. Who would you rather have on your team Jeter or Morneau? And if you say Morneau you're lying.

For all these professed Yankee haters, everybody certainly does alot of talking about them.

And no not all Yankee fans whine, we heard what the Captain had to say, he's OK with it and so are we.

Besides Jeter has 4 rings and a certain pass to Cooperstown, MVP....another piece of hardware on the mantle ... another trophy to dust...... Jeter can wear a different ring 4 days out of the week.

I'm not a Yankee fan, but I go for the Twins for the AL Central they have a chance to catch up to the Tigers like last year.

Maybe because he deserved it but the problem is not that he lost but that some moron voted him 6th. Listen to the interview on Mike and the Mad Dog on wfan.com and you will see that this guy didnt know **** what he was talkin bout. Yankees had a lot more injuries than Twins, yea Morneau helped Twins get there but when they sucked early he sucked too. Take that all you loser haters and listen to what people are complaining about before you get on a group of people.

Is there anything a Yankee fan doesn't whine about? My goodness they feel like they're entitled to everything, because of their "tradition" and big pappa George's megabucks.
