Were half of the voters from Minnesota or were they just personal friends of the Morneau family?

I hate the Yankees.... but Jeter really had a great year and he did deserve to win.

How did he lose it?

Simple...he was not good enough to win. There were many players who were much more deserving of the 2006 AL MVP, including Thomas, Dye, Santana, Ortiz, and the winner, Morneau.

I don't know who the bigger crybaby is: George Steinbrenner that he cannot buy a World Series, or Yankees fans who can't accept the fact that the better man won, and the better man was not Derek Jeter.

Jeter lost the MVP because he wasn't good enough. The writers weren't from Minnesota, in fact, the only reason Jeter did so well in the voting is because the writers in NY have favored Yankees since the MVP award began. Morneau, and many others deserved it more than Jeter.

Well lets see he lost it because he wasn't the best and didn't deserve it anyways. Jeter is so overrated its not even funny. Congratulations to Morneau

Most Sports Writers Are Not As Knowledgeable As You Would Think ,Many Did It To Snub The Yankees Even Though Jeter Deserved It

He didn't lose it, he wasn't awarded it. Major league baseball has it's stars, but by the attendance the last few years you could definitely say it is no longer America's game. The baseball powers that be need new stars to create renewed interest in the game. Jeter has done about all he can in that respect.

Anyone who thinks Morneau is better than Jeter really doesn't know baseball. The stats tell the story but not the whole story.

Maybe there were some writers out there that could get beyond the close minded Yankee thinking. Get over yourself Yankee Nation! Morneau had better numbers! Get over it already!

Jeter is in a class all by himself and is definitely THE most valuable player in the American League. This said by an avid Red Sox fan.

Chow!!
