Yep I am whining because Jeter should have won! The Yankees couldn't have gotten as far as they did without him. The Yanks were injured and hurt all season long and once again Jeter stepped up and helped his team just like he always does!
So I can WHINE if I want too. GOT IT???

Actually, this is the ONE time in recent memory that the two most deserving candidates were the finalists. The writers did their homework for once...
Morneau absoultely deserved it. He had monster numbers at first base. He doesn't have the name brand recognition because hell, who watched Twins games until late in the season? That kid can flat out mash in the clutch. He is an incredible player.
I would have chosen Jeter for the intangibles of carrying the team through the injury.
Jeter wasn't robbed. Perhaps a bit of New York backlash did him in...

Jeter lost to the better man. Quite frankly, he wouldn't have been in my top 5, as Thomas, Ortiz, Santana and Dye each had a stronger claim to the AL MVP in 2006 than Derek Jeter.
The MVP is not a popularity contest. It is awarded to the player that is the most valuable to his team. The Yankees would have made it to the post season with or without Jeter.

Yankee fans get over it already! Jeter's the most valuable player on his team without a doubt but both Morneau had better numbers! There are other teams with players than the Yankees!
