We all know Howard is MVP of NL and Morneau is MVP of AL.

Setting those two aside for a moment, who should have been MVP? (In your opinion)

Back up your answer, compare those two (The MVP player of the year and your opinioned MVP) with stats, defense, w/e.

*For Yankee Fans*
And i don't wanna hear about how great Jeter did last season or last 5 seasons. Im talking about this season (That just passed), and this season only.

No backed up answer will be ignored (by me).

Also answer me this...

"What would that team be without him (whoever you picked) assuming the whole roster is 100% healthy?"

if he is playing, wouldn't he rather retire being on a winning team - like St. Louis?

There's no excuses, they're getting proper crowds but they are still making frightening noises about being committed to the farm system. All well and good, but Expos' fans heard this time and again and seen great players traded for 'prospects'. This occured again when Hernandez went to Arizona for two young pitchers, one of whom may be a starter this year in a rotation that currently consists of:

Patterson (Good but major injury worry)
Rauch (Decent in bullpen, untried at this level as a starter)
Perez (Good in 2 out of 3 starts, but was hammered against Mets)
O'Connor (Decent start but doesn't have the stuff to worry MLB right-handers, as the 3-8 record proved)
Cilimo (Anyone's guess, meant to be Diamondbacks best pitching prospect)

Some of the $$$ saved by passing on Soriano and Guillen should indeed be put into the A-AAA teams but the team needs a Marquis, Chacon, Lilly or even a Redman NOW and can afford it.

Any comments?

I'm a Twins fan and i a lil' bit worried on how the team is doing.

With former ace Radke retired, and Liriano out for whole next season b'cause of surgery. Santana will have his back full of younglings.

Also to mention 2 players fighting for a spot in left field (Tyner, Stewart) a problem with Nick Punto, who's defense is great but struggles at bat.

And everyone is the central devision only getting better!

Phillies' Howard Named National League MVP
Star Follows 2005 Rookie Award With 58 HR Season
By RONALD BLUM
AP Sports
NEW YORK (Nov. 20) - Ryan Howard had a season that defied convention, one that made him only the second player voted Rookie of the Year and Most Valuable Player in consecutive years.

Why did they choose Howard? His 58 homers to Pujols' 49, and his 149 RBI to Pujols' 137. That's where the advantages for Howard end. Pujols is better in nearly every single other significant category. See for yourself:

Player AVG OBP SLG VORP WARP EqA
A. Pujols .331 .431 .671 85.4 12.9 .357
R. Howard .313 .425 .659 81.5 9.4 .346

The first three categories are well-known rate stats, and clearly show Pujols was the superior player in 2006. The main knock on Pujols in the MVP race was that he didn't play as many games as Howard.

Houston 's Lance Berkman was third with 230 points, followed by the New York Mets ' Carlos Beltran (211), Cabrera (170) and Washington 's Alfonso Soriano (106) - who agreed to a $136 million, eight-year contract with the Chicago Cubs on Monday.
