They should be a little more interesting to watch...Alex Gordon > 2005 college player of the year >2006 Minor League player of the year >2007 we'll see, but Gordon has a chance to be a star..
Billy Butler is only 20, and, he can flat out hit, will he make the big club?
It would be nice to see Mike Sweeney actually play a full season, it is a contract year for Sweeney so he's going to have a little more incentive than usual to put up numbers...
Mark Teahen is one of the best young 3B in all of baseball,
David Dejesus plays gold glove caliber defense,no that's not right actually he played better defense last year than any of the three(OF) gold glove winners in the AL. I look for his offensive numbers to get slightly better next year...
Estaban German is playing winter ball in hopes of improving his defense to the point he would no longer be a liability in the field...
The Royals need to do something about Catcher and Shortstop...John Buck and Angel Berroa have got to go...
Mark Grudzielanek will be solid again at second...
Emil Brown improved his defense to the point last year that he's now a solid ML outfielder....
Almost no matter what the Royals do with their pitching staff next year it could not be any worse than 2006...I don't look for any huge improvement, but, I do look for the pitching to be a little better...
I don't look for Luke Hochaver to start the season in KC but maybe by the All Star break they will give him a shot...
Jimmy Gobble has good stuff he just need to learn to keep the ball in the park...
Hudson - Hernandez - Redman, should at least burn up some innings
The bullpen should be improved.
The Royals are not going to go .500 next year, but they should win a few more games..Hopefully the young guys will make a big splash...

If KC improves a HORRIBLE bullpen by adding another strong lefty arm that could get us tough outs against a lof of the great lefty bats in the AL (not to mention just the central, Hafner, Thome, Casey (for avg/gap) anyone?). They need to develop Burgos into a legitimate closer, just not tell him to close his eyes and throw the ball as hard as he can - make him a pitcher, not just a thrower.
THe key, and I mean big key is the arrival of THE Alex Gordon. Flat out best all around bat in the minors this year (has hardware to prove it). If he can get through early part of the season where he'll experience the normal ups and downs of pro stardom - he could be great! Find a place for him on the infield (see ya Teahen).
Jason Larue is a great aquisition because we need a serious "steal-stopping" catcher. Bako and John Buck just ain't cuttin it.
Bottom line - Royals, 3rd behind Tigers and Cleveland.

I think they will have the 2nd or 3rd best record in their entire league. You did mean the Omaha Royals, didn't you?
But seriously, KC will be last in the AL Central. Everybody else is just better than them. The only team that may lose out to them is Cleveland. And that's only if KC makes drastic improvements and Cleveland takes a nosedive off a cliff with lead weights attached to their ankles and land in a tank of sharks in the midst of a feeding frenzy.

It's sad to see a proud franchise relegated to last place every year. Unfortunately for KC they have the Tigers, Twins and White Sox in their division.Unless the Management of the Royals uses the Luxury Tax that we pay them every year for better ballplayers, the Royals finish last again.

Hopefully they will do better with the addition of Jason LaRue behind the plate but they gotta get Zach Greinke back on track
because I have an autographed card of him and it ain't gonna be worth sh*t if he has personal problems and can't pitch.

They will still finish last Theere are in a tough division where all those teams are rebuilding just like them. They might hang tight in the first half but after the break they'll just be left behind.
