IMHO - by Decade

1900-1910 - Nap Lajoie / Honus Wagner
1910-1920 - Joe Jackson / Gavvy Cravath
1920-1930 - Rogers Hornsby / Hack Wilson
1930-1940 - Jimmie Foxx / Al Simmons
1940-1950 - Joe DiMaggio / Ralph Kiner
1950-1960-1970 - Hank Aaron / Willie Mays / Frank Robinson / Ernie Banks
1970-1980 - Jim Rice / Johnny Bench or Tony Perez
1980-1990 - Mike Schmidt / Robin Yount or Paul Molitor
1990-2000 - present - Frank Thomas / Manny Ramirez / Alex Rodriguez / Albert Pujols

I would personally rate Rogers Hornsby the greatest right-handed hitter of all time and Pujols the greatest of our day.

You know while you're making fun of Frank Thomas, There's not too many hitters period who's going to have the number Frank Have, inlcuding HR's RBI's, Batting Average, and I'll bet anyone you so called doubters Franks gets in the Hall of Fame on the first try. One of the pure hitters in Baseball who 1. Didn't take Steriods, Mark, Barry, Rafeal, Sammy, Sheffield.
2. Actually won a Title with the team he was drafted to play with.
3. Didn't throw games "say it aint so Joe"
4. Will retire with a career .300 BA and .400 slugging percentage.

It's easy to fluff numbers like I think Jeter's numbers are when you have a lineup of all star hitters every year, you as a pitcher have no choice but to pitch to someone.

Frank Thomas has been excellent for many years. He will probably be in the Hall of Fame, although not the first or second round. But to say he is the greatest hitter is not knowing the history of baseball

Forget all time, try present day.

Pujols, Miguel Cabrera, Vlad, Manny

Try in the American league - Vlad, Manny, A-Rod...

Try the AL East - Manny, A-Rod, Jeter...

Is Frank Thomas even the best hitter on his team anymore? The Jays have some guys who can hit..

This question was quite funny, thank you.

1. Willie Mays
2. Hank Aaron
3. Frank Robinson
4. Rogers Hornsby
5. "Shoeless" Joe Jackson
6. Honus Wagner
7. Joe Dimaggio
8. Frank Thomas

You need to consider how each player did as compared to their peers. Frank Thomas has very good power numbers, but he is also playing in a very strong offensive era.

no he isn't the greatest right handed hitter if all time, the greatest is between Joe Dimaggio, but missed three of his prime years to the army. Also Hank Aaron was great.

Frank Thomas? Absolutely no. That honor goes to Joltin' Joe DiMaggio

Please get real. Frank Thomas is a decent right handed htter but no where near the Top 50 and is a longshot to go to the hall of fame.
