I agree with Mr. Porgie although he is a Tiggers fan, oh I mean Tigers. They will need pitching help. Santana, Silva, Bonser, Garza, and then whoever. Maybe Silva will come back and Bonser will build on his success of last year, but I think they need another veteran to put in the rotation just someone to eat up innings and not get knocked around a lot. The bullpen will probably be good again. I would like another leadoff hitter, Castillo is excellent, but I think they need someone with power in the one of two hole. Maybe bring Stewart back as a DH excellent hitter decent mid range power 10-12 home runs a year, they need someone who can occasionally start the game off with a home run and Stewart has that power. If they do not get a good leadoff hitter I would juggle the lineup around a little bit
1. Castillo
2. Mauer
3. Cuddyer or Punto depending on who is pitching
4. Morneau or Cuddyer again depending on who is pitching
5. Hunter or Morneau
6. Hunter or Tyner
7.DH whoever maybe Kent Hrbek? ha ha
8. Punto or Tyner
9. Bartlett
If they find a DH that could change but that is what I would like to see, Castillo and Punto are good hitters but no power and I would like to see someone with decent power in the one or two slot but that is just my opinion and I know it wont happen that way so GO TWINS and go tiggers i mean Tigers and Boo on the Sox.

Lirano got them to the playoffs. Santana will have a great year and Mauer and Morneau will have great years also but without Liriano and Radke they will struggle in a strong central division. The tigers proved they can play again and the white sox are going to be pretty good.

I'm a Yankee fan and I think the Twins are fine just the way they are. I really believe that next season the Twins will win the division by at least 10 games over the Tigers. The Tigers are what I refer to as one hit wonders. The Twins are a much better team all around. It will be the Twins and the Yankees next season for the American League pennant.

The Twins should be ok.I'm sure they'll find a way to be in the thick of things next September. The questions that should be asked are, Was the Tigers season a fluke? With Kenny Rogers as the ace I would be worrying. Was the White Sox season a fluke? On paper they should have been there. Will their pitching woes continue?
A very tough Division.

Defensively, they'll be fine, offensively they're very good and the Twins generally have something good up their sleeve in the pitching departments at AA and AAA. It will be interesting to see if they try and re-sign Shannon Stewart or go after a relatively inexpensive pitcher with something to prove (Jason Marquis, Tony Armas Jr?) later on in the year. Either way, if Santana racks up more impressive numbers the Twins will comfortably go above .500, but may not make it to the playoffs. And I didn't even mention Justin Morneau :-)
It could be worse, you could support the Nationals (sigh)

Morneau is going to have to produce like he did in the second half of the season but this time he needs to do that for the whole year. The offense is probably going to need to step up but Radke was not great last year anyways. Look for another second half surge similar to this year as the rookie pitchers acclimate to the conditions.

i think the twins should get by fine. their great defensively with mauer covering the plate and punto and their shortstop or thirdbaseman. also their offense is starting to show some promise. they have a great all around numbers guy in morneau. he hit like 320 drove in 135, and hit 30 some home runs. plus you have mauer who won the batting title. with those two and torri hunter their offense is ok. like you said the only question would be the depth at their rotation, but with an ace like santana and ok offense they shouldnt have to many problems

The Central is going to be tough, but I still have faith in my Twins.
What they need is a veteran pitcher like a Jason Schmidt or a Tom Glavine to fill in for Radke and they also need another power hitter to go with Morneau and Cuddyer.

they have a good enough team to get back to the playoffs but the real question is what could the twins do to get to the next level as in the world series

joe maur and justin morneau should continue to do great. Punto has to do better at the bat, and joe nathan has to pitch well. They need to maintain a very good pitching staff, and their hitting should be a bit better, and torii hunter has to be able to hit well also.
