I am only asking because I read an article in a South Carolina paper, ( I am on vacation in Myrtle Beach S. C. & having a great time) He stated that since this chase is a play-off type format, why should other 31 drivers race in the remaining races. It would be more $$$ for the sponsors of the 12 cars. He stated what other sports let teams play that didn't qualify for the play-offs to begin with. There is a computer in main registration office I use once a day to check out Yahoo answers. I am curious to everyone's opinion but I myself would like to see all 43 cars in the race because watching just a 12 car race wouldn't be as exciting. Good day to all

Other than rooting for your favorite driver(s), are you:
rooting against others, looking for a crash, or using a Sunday afternoon to have a reason to chill and have a few beers?

I know experiencing the sights, sounds and even smells of a live race blows away anything you can see on TV. What is the best part of being a fan?

instead of a points system in the final 10 races, make it a singel elimination sort of thing where you would have 10 drivers and 10 races, at the end of each race the last car who is in the hunt for the championship gets eliminated. by the time we get to homestead, we have a 2 car race and the championship could be decided on a last lap pass. this format would bring out every thing we want in racing. 1, we would have good racing expecialy for the bubble spot and the difference of being in and out coming down to the last lap. 2, the best driver wins. 3, no math is involved, the championship is resolved based on passing the guy in front of you. Thats what racing is all about. passing the guy in front of you, not math.

OK, since it's down to basically a 2-man shoot-out between JG and JJ, who will be the first to hiccup and have a bad finish? And how bad will it be? Or will they both continue on as they have all season and whoever finishes ahead of the other at Homestead wins it all? OK, here's my prediction. JG closes it back up at Phoenix and they are only 5 points apart in the finale. In a green-white-checkered, JG slips past the 48 on the final turn, not to win, but to finish ahead of JJ enough to take the Cup by a mere 3 points. How's that sound?

Who deserves it the most?
Jeff Gordon or Jimmie Johnson
Now, with only 2 races to go Johnson leads the points standings by 30 points.
He has 9 wins and 3 consecutive; Gordon has 6 and 2 of the last 5 races?
For all the Gordon fans (including myself) I really believe that Gordon deserves it the most.
Wins may be cool but look at the regular season.
Gordon completely dominated those 26 races and had a huge lead, which could've given him the championship by now.
I know there are many answerers who just have to crack a joke at my standpoint. Don't embarrass yourselves, idiots.
What do you think?

They kept saying that all through the race yesterday. He's racing under a new number, so shouldn't he be racing to get the first couple of races because of owner's points?

Has anyone tried the Nascar Racing Experience? I'm thinking about driving at Talledega and I wanted to know if anyone has tried it and are the cars easy to control. I have done a lot of reading and it says all of the cars are bought from leading teams like Hendrick and Rousch, so they must be good quality cars! Just seeing how many people have tried it?

What's so special about the guy? Seriously. Sure his dad was a great racer and a racing legend, but what's so special about him? He barely wins any races and his team has had at least 11 or 12 engine failures this year. Whenever a segment on a sports show is covering NASCAR, it's always about Dale Jr. Oh my god!!! He switched teams and his number. Big woop. So did Mark Martin last year and Dale Jarret and Ricky Rudd.

I have not kept up with the Busch series for the last couple seasons because of the buschwacking, and seeing Harvick and Carl get such a commanding point lead so early in the season the last two years as solidified my resolve...hold on, let me step off my soap box for a sec...

I just had this idea on Sunday morning. The reason Buschwacking makes the racing boring is because we are seeing the best drivers step into the best equipment, the same as the cup series. But I thought if a dominate team, let's say Roush, wants to run a car in the Busch series, he should put a series regular in the car or a development driver. And if a cup driver wants to run the Busch race, he should have to run with a second-rate team. So we would have the best drivers in second rate equipment, and second rate drivers in good equipment. I know the sponsors wouldn't go for it, but it might make things interesting?

Opinions?

I collect Tony Stewart 1/24 cars and have the following:

#20 Grand Prix - Winston Cup Championship car autographed
#8 DEI Goodies Busch Car driven by Tony
#33 Harvick Old Spice Busch car driven by Tony
#8 Bud Chevy - Dale Earnhardt Jr
#1 Bass Pro Shop Chevy - Martin Truex Jr
#26 Ricky Bobby Chevy - just for fun

I'd love to get Tony's Busch series car before he moved up to the cup series.

Gordon's hasn't been running that great the last few races and complaints of poor handling cars are common. If the 24 bunch wind up losing the championship, do you think Letarte will stay on as crew chief? Personally, I think they need someone more aggressive like Knaus or Evernham in the old days. I wonder how well Steve Letarte is sleeping these days. What's your take?

Of course with the round 8's instead of the squared one's. Looks too much like Jarretts old #. I like the new cars, just thought it would be great to see him back in a red car. I know...it's the driver not the car,but red would cool!!

with Tony Stewart and Kevin Harvick yesterday, does anybody know? I saw Stewart under Harvick's bumper, and Harvick was holding on to the wheel for all he was worth. It really seemed like Stewart was trying to wreck him. But, I know those two have claimed friendship, so giving Stewart the benefit of the doubt here.
I am just curious if anybody caught exactly what happened there. Some of you watch different channels, or have race scanners. ABC didn't really elaborate much.

to get some credit for being a great driver AND for people to spell his name right? Is anyone that hates Jimmie Johnson ready to admit he can drive a race car as good as anyone presently in cup competition? That race at Texas showed how much of a racer he is and neither Tony nor Jeff could have driven that car any harder without wrecking it. If you are one of those that say they cheat, show me HOW they have in the 9 races they won this year or SHUT UP!
