I'm all for it, but is it inbedded in Nascar writing somewhere. Don't get me wrong, it's great. Just wondering. Is it along the same lines as congress offering prayers. Don't ask?

Yesterday there was a question asked about the NAACP's involvement with NASCAR. I've been watching the answers and have yet to see any sources! frank m said that Nascar paid Jesse Jackson $50,000.00 to let them alone and he did!
Also there was some mention of Toyota paying the NAACP.
Beth said it was a baldface lie!
If anyone has a source, one way or the other please let me have it! This is interesting to me because I have heard of the same thing happening elsewhere! That Jesse and AL have been getting money through vailed threats or to put it another way blackmail!! Just looking for the truth!!

Is the stampede from F1 to NASCAR going to destroy this sport? Spend years following and watching the Busch drivers develop their talent for stint in the Big League...then their time is spent waiting again for the big break...F1 drivers remind me of illegal aliens trying to jump in front of the people trying to go through the correct process...money prevails...I am sure losing interest in NASCAR...a fan for 32 yrs...

I am just trying to see how recently a champion who didnt make the race finished in the top ten at a race. I would be will ing to bet it was Earnhardt or Elliot.

2 more races & the post-season banquet remain before DE Jr. joins Hendrick Motorsports and becomes Jeff Gordon's wingman. How are Earnhardt fans coping with this impending doom, LOL?

2007-11-08 12:21:42 · 31 answers · asked by greenlantern1973 2

I know that Jr. is voted the most popular, but could it be that because of his father that he is the name that most non-nascar fans remember. Ask a non-fan to name a driver...chances are they wont be able to name five and in that group of five, they will say Jr., even though they know nothing about him.
another question, How popular would Jr. be if his last name were Smith or anything other than Earnhart?

Which track would it be???
Watkins Glen or Sonoma???

I would pick Watkins Glen only because I live about 30 minutes from the track.

Then HMS will be 1,2,3 in the chase. Interesting article:

What do you think of that? I don't think it will happen, at least I hope not. What a season for HMS if he does.

Since Kyle is running CTS, Busch and Cup this weekend, what are his chances of winning all 3? I say he'll do best in the CTS. What do you think?

I know Gordon and Johnson have the best numbers over the past 5 or 6 years, which would mean they are good drivers. Not taking anything away from them. They are also with by far the best organization with unlimited resources. How good do you think they would be if say: They were in a a Petty car, With Roush or Gibbs. Would you say "they are still the greatest"? I'm not bashing anyone, just curious. Was there a little luck involved in getting the rides they got?

NASCAR driver? It's definately Jeff Gordon. Johnson has been doing good this year too. But when you compare Gordon to other Hall of Fame drivers, he's moving up there quick for the time he's been racing. The points system have changed soo much that I think Gordon would have already equaled and maybe even surpassed the 7 Championships of Richard Petty and Dale Earnhart. What do you think?

Last year at this point in the season he was 10th in points, 6 wins, 11 top 5s, 17 top 10s!
This season so far he's 17th in points, 0 wins, 1 top 5, 8 top 10s!
Something really went wrong? I expected him to do at least as well if not better than last year!!

Richard Petty thinks by moving from Level Cross, NC to Mooresville, NC a distance of about 50 to 60 miles, will help his team win races. Personally, I think it's the equipment, who's on the team and the driver thats in the car that wins you races right? What do ya'll think?
