They are great drivers, but them in Petty equipment, they would probably not be as good, but better than Petty is doing now...But if they were in Roush or Gibbs they'd be winning. probably not as much as they are at HMS...HMS right now just has the best equipment.. Good question, it would be wild to see them in Petty Stuff or DEI, or Bill Davis, or Robert Yates stuff and see how they'd do...

Gordon would still definitely be one of the best drivers. Jimmie would also be good, but I think that Jimmie's crew gets him more wins than Gordon's does.
The only organization you listed that would give them substandard equipment would possibly be the Petty organization. But remember folks, even Petty isn't fielding junk equipment. It's not as good as HMS, but it's not complete crap.
And the reason that these drivers are with the organizations that they are today is BECAUSE of their skill. The highest bidder will get the best talent most of the time. Take a look at the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox. Those players are playing for those teams because they're some of the best players in baseball. The same goes for Johnson and Gordon.

I hear what you are saying but you also have to understand that you get to work for the best teams if you are one of the best drivers. If there was somebody better, rest assured Rick would throw a big contract in front of them and get them to HMS lickity split. One of the perks of being exceptional is that you get to negotiate nice contracts and be on the best teams. Would Tony Stewart or Matt Kenseth be where they are without the benefit of great teams and owners with deep pockets? I think Jeff and Jimmie would have very similar stats with either JGR or Roush/Fenway Racing but certainly not with the likes of Petty and lets say RYR or Ganassi.

Gordon is between the storage leaders, evreyone expects him to step up. humorous how without word all of us forgets that very few seasons in the past TOny Stewart and Kevin Harvick were complaining that Jeff hadn't completely stepped into the area left for him through Dale Srs demise. Now that he has, all of us has stumbled on a reason to ***** about it. And it wasn't basically those 2 that inspected the music, about a dozen drivers were obtainable in turns 3 and four reckoning on the music.

Well personally I think Jeff Gordon is the best driver out there but that is based on my on personal liking of him. Jimmie Johnson is my second favorite driver and ye right now I think they are the best . Every now and then you have standouts in Nascar and I think now these two are the best.

They would probably be running the same as the drivers currently with those organizations. You can be a really good driver, but with less than great equipment, you will be less than great.
Go Jr.>>>>

I think HMS is strong & I think the equimpent & teams are very strong as well. But I think #24 & #48 are very talented drivers they know what they are doing, they are a ball to watch. So I think wherever they were they would do great & give us a fantastic show.

I think Hendrix is a strong owner, and they probably would not have done quite as well. Let's see how Jr. does next season and that might tell us something.
