I'm glad he'll be with Hendrick Motorsports. JR> said he was looking for a father figure in a recent interview and He said he feels he found that wih Mr. Hendrick. Lets face...Jr. has been off killter since the death of his father. Hendrick will give him Great equipment and Great advise. JR's found a home and thats all that matters. As far as how Gordon will handle it, Gordons a class act.......An Awesome Driver and dont forget, a personal friend and former business partner of Sr's. Let the healing begin for Jr. and I'll bet anyone Hendrick will get him a championship!

I think it's crazy that some people think he'll be leaving Gordon and Johnson in the dust.
This isn't impending doom for Earndhardt Jr. fans, this is the best chance for their driver to win races and a championship. Dale Jr. knows it, and those fans of his who aren't blinded by their hate for HMS have realized this as well.
As far as him being Gordon's wingman, that's kind of a true statement. Like it or not, Gordon is the leader at HMS when it comes to the drivers. Being a wingman doesn't mean that you can't swoop in for the kill though. Take a look at Jimmie Johnson. He's outperformed Gordon the past few years, but Jeff is still the leader. What'll be interesting to see is who will take over the leadership role once Jeff retires. Will it be Johnson or Jr.?

Jr. is going to be racing for one of his father's friends. People seem to forget that part of the story. I am glad he's going to be racing for Hendrick, a man we can respect and that Jr. has finally left the wicked step-Mommy who won't even attend a race.
I will be so glad when they start calling him Dale, or Earnhardt and not Jr. He deserves to live his own racing career.

I'm OK with it. It's the people or the fans that have trouble with this combo. They get along just fine. Dale Sr. and Gordon got along after a few years of Gordon being in the cup series.
The one thing that bothers me is that Hendricks has too many too popular drivers. This whole next season is going to be Hendricks this Hendrick that.
Hendricks are already accused of cheating because they win so much and then if Jr starts winning it will because he drivers for a bunch of cheaters.
I like his move he had to get away from the stagnate atmosphere at TEI but maybe a different team would have been a better pick.

Actually, this is a very smart move for Dale Jr. Sometimes to step out of your father's shadow, you must move to a different location.
By joining Hendrick Motorsports, Dale Jr will be with a team that has proven it can win championships. Also he will be mentored by Jeff Gordon, who learned from Dale Sr. Say what you will about Jeff Gordon, but you cannot deny 4 Nextel/Winston championships and 81 career wins.
Also Dale Jr will not have to worry about Theresa Earnhardt anymore. Not that I'm blaming her for anything...cough...blown engines.

No impending doom - unless you mean for Gordon and Johnson Fans!
This will prove once and for all - that Dale Earnhardt Jr. is better than either of those other two...given the same technology and information!
This 08 Season will be one for the records!!!
Just Bring It !

You being sarcastic aren't you. Either that or your dyslexic. It's not impending doom, it's what needs to be done. I'm sure Dale Earnhardt Jr. fans are looking forward to Junior being able to prove himself in a Hendrick machine. As far as how his fans are coping, maybe they'll chuck the budweiser and switch brands.
