Has anyone tried the Nascar Racing Experience? I'm thinking about driving at Talledega and I wanted to know if anyone has tried it and are the cars easy to control. I have done a lot of reading and it says all of the cars are bought from leading teams like Hendrick and Rousch, so they must be good quality cars! Just seeing how many people have tried it?

In November of 2005 I did the NASCAR Racing Experiance at Talladega. That was a trip. The car I used was a former Andy Petree/Joe Nemicheck/Kerry Earnhardt car.It was 6 laps the first lap was like slow motion. The 2nd lap was faster and the 3rd lap was up to speed and not lifting for the next 2.
The driver that was in the passenger seat estimated my speed between 173 and 177 mph.
The car it's self was not real hard to handle and the faster you go the easier it is.And if you can get with the directors(I think his name is Kelly) father he is a cool dude and very helpful as is all the drivers/spotters in the car.
Good luck and have fun.
Oh yes you are out there wit 4 or 5 other cars at that speed. No Pace car to set the speed.

My wife and I did the Richard Petty ride along experience as part of our Vegas wedding package. It was pretty cheap, and we didn't have the time or the money to do the driving experience. It was so cool because I'm a Gordon fan, and I got to ride in a replica of his car.

If I were to do the driving experience, I'd choose them as well. Great facility, great people, and great drivers.

I did the Richard Petty Ride Along program about 6 years ago at Lowe's Motor Speedway. It was simply awesome.
