I was looking at the Nascar schedule and they already haved the pole driver listed for the last few races. Isn't there a pole position qualifying to determine the order?

Take a closer look. The names you're seeing are the winner and pole winner from LAST year's race. The first time I looked at that it confused me a bit as well.

I think previous posters are correct you are seeing the pole winner and race winner from the last race. but to elaborate more if qualifying was to be rained out or skipped for what ever reason the drivers would line up by points first in points getting pole.

They have a a time trial the day before the race, they usually don't air it. The car with fastest time gets the #1 pole, the 2nd fastest, the 2nd spot, and so forth. The slowest car, any car with mechanial trouble, or, if the team had to switch cars, gets the last (or bottom) poles. Check out the book NASCAR FOR DUMMIES or go to NASCAR's website.

Bizz is right. If you are looking on NASCAR.Com that is the pole and winner from last years race. The drivers have to qualify either the Friday or Saturday before the race.
