If you could give the Bad Luck Award to ONE driver from this past Sunday's race only, who would you pick? Your choices are.....

1) Kyle Bush~ pit crew royally screwed up and cost him a chance for the win.

2) Denny Hamlin~ crew chief made a bad call and or there was a water issue in his fuel cell which caused him to practically sit still on the track during a restart.

3) Truex Jr.~ smashed into the back of Denny Hamlin when he was just sitting on the track during a restart. Cost him a chance for the win.

4) Kurt Bush~ Can't for the life of me remember what the hell happened, but I know he was taken out of contention also, lol.

5) Dale Earnhardt Jr.~ The dude had a fast car, was sitting in third with three laps left and lost, not just a tire, but a whole wheel.

Or, maybe I missed somebody else you would rather give it to. Let's face it, that race was nuts.

I went in April (it was my first race) and I had a blast. Now we know what to expect and cant wait to experience it all again. And next year we are getting season passes so we are able to go into the pit area. I cant wait to meet and greet some drivers. (Especially Hendricks)

GO JEFF GO!!!

the last busch series race?

One of them said that maybe IRL drivers are tired of drinking MILK so they want a little bit of beer when they celebrate and not milk, that could be a reason for moving to NASCAR. (im paraphrasing ok)

I thought it was stupid to say that, i mean its one of the most recognized signs of victory drinking THE MILK..i thought it was kinda uncalled for.

What do you think?

p.s. Im asking this not only for opinions but to keep the board alive!! =)

New to watching Formula racing......I noticed a square plate with upcurving straps on the ground in the pit box of some cars. Seems to be about midway under the car when the car is stopped. Does anyone know what it is or it is used for? I thought maybe to discharge static electricity or something. Just curious.

In the Nascar race yesterday Denny Hamlin was leading because he didn't pit. At first it was thought that he ran out of gas. But it turns out there was water in the feul tank, I read this on www.nascar.com

I thought it was interesting more than anything. As a Dale Sr. fan and a Gordon fan, thank God they didn't get the idea for a Chase a long time ago!

...Did they decide to make it an impound race after all?

But, what do you think Jr's chances are of finishing a race this season?

I am just looking at the next 3 races, hoping Jr will win, but at this point, I would just like to see him finish at least one race out of the next 3. I know, next year is gonna be a whole different story, and we will be counting the wins. For now, what do you think about the next 3 races?

Go Jr.>>>>

It is also implied that Nascar favors them and hands them wins. Why would Nascar do that? Makes no sense at all to me.

You don't get this in other sports as much why in Nascar? Did the Baseball league give the series to the Sox? No they were better than the other team.
Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson are dominating this because of good cars and good drivers. Next year may be another team that does well. That's what Sports are all about.

GO JIMMIE JOHNSON #48

Me, as a person have gotten tired of NASCAR not giving credit where it is due. Mainly to the previous sponsor of the Cup Series and soon to be previous sponsor of the Busch Series. They refer to all Cup winners as NEXTEL Cup winners when this is not so and will do the same when Nationwide becomes the Busch sponsor next year. Since NEXTEL (next year SPRINT) became the sponsor of the cup series they refer to all champions as NEXTEL CUP Champions when not all were so. Just rubs me the wrong way I guess especially if I were at WINSTON. Whats your thoughts?

Does anyone else find it ironic that both of their crew chiefs have been suspended for cheating (Knaus more than once) and they keep winning races? I don't know, I may just be salty, but I don't even want to watch anymore because you know who's gonna win each week. Who's with me?

The tire that came off the car was put on the car on lap 268....
The next caution that Jr changed the 2 right tires was on lap 318...
The lap that the tire came off on was lap 328...
Jr drives the number 8....
The race was on Oct the 28th.....

There is something going on with all those eights.
Do you find that strange?

I'm a major Stewart fan and by extension a Hamlin fan (even though i think he has his head up his ***). When it comes to the championship though i find myself cheering for johnson (know that stewart has no chance), even though i hate all that is hendrick. I cheer for johnson because he's my only hope to beat Gordon, i hate gordon more than any other driver...

so i guess my question is this: anyone temporarily a Johnson fan just so Gordon doesnt get the championship?

...From what I saw the left rear tire had been on since about 60 laps to go.
Lap 268 - took 4 tires
Lap 318 - took 2 right tires
Lap 322 - didn't pit (stayed out)
Lap 328 - Jr's tire decides it was faster than the car

From the looks of his pit on lap 318 he took 2 right side tires. Nobody touched the left rear wheel since Lap 268. I noticed on the tape rewind that his crew on the 268 pit stop was on the right side changing his tires.

...So how did the left rear tire fall off on the last lap when it had been on the car for close to 60 laps? That shoud be somewhere around 90 miles on that wheel before it fell off.

Am I missing something?
