It takes a lot more than moisture in the air to accumulate the amount of water it would take to bog down one of those NNC engines. That water had to either come from someone putting it in either the feul cans, or fuel tanks on the cars, or a leak in the underground tanks used at the track.

It could also have possibly come from the tanker truck itself, if it has been washed out before refilling with fuel.

There were signs of water contamination in most of the cars, even the 48 had water in the carburetor in post race inspection. The water was brownish rust colored so it was not condensation but a leak in the pipes or pumps of the on site gas station.

Besides Hamlin and Blaney this could have affected many cars to a lesser degree.

This is a total mystery, Sonoco states there was no water in the fueltanks at the track.. Moisture in the air won't cause this. Biffle, Hamlin, Blaney, thats 1 ford, 1 chevy, 1 toyota, was there a dodge with this problem..Somethings fishy... I did not think there was any water to spare in GA, you have a drought going on there, quit putting it in Cup cars they won;t run on it.. I'm sure this is not the last we have heard about this issue...

...As was said above a muddy color water was found which may be rust or gound water draining in. They have pretty much ruled out fould play and are presently doing tests on the substance found in the tanks to determine if it is clay, dirt, or rust.

...I was thinking condensation also just to be on the nice side and avoid conspiracies but the water was not clear. If the water had been clear then condensation or conspiracies could have come into play.

...There was too many people that had water in their fuel cells. Jimmie Johnson also had water in his but it didn't effect everyone.
