the last busch series race?

One of them said that maybe IRL drivers are tired of drinking MILK so they want a little bit of beer when they celebrate and not milk, that could be a reason for moving to NASCAR. (im paraphrasing ok)

I thought it was stupid to say that, i mean its one of the most recognized signs of victory drinking THE MILK..i thought it was kinda uncalled for.

What do you think?

p.s. Im asking this not only for opinions but to keep the board alive!! =)

Cant believe they would say something like that but ive learned not to be surprised from the awful coverage ESPN has given us this year. Drinking milk after winning Indy is what its all about. Its about the passion of the sport and winning the greatest race in the world...even greater then daytona. It is a disrespectful comment to make and they should be ashamed at insulting not only the Indy 500 but some of the greatest drivers who have raced there like Foyt, Unser, Andretti. Make no mistake im a NASCAR fan but i respect history, I respect that racetrack more than any other in the world and I respect that tradition more than any other in motorsports.

I heard a rumor that the Busch brand is dumping the Grand National NASCAR series (Busch Series), to either be the title sponsor of the Indy 500, or to be the sponsor of the Indycar series. It was from a reliable source. It could be just a rumor, though. I would just keep watching and listening for more info. However, this might be why the commentators said what they said !!!

it was a joke, i think a lot of people are looking for things to be offended by, now if a irl fan wants to be pissed at nascar there are plenty of good reasons like having the speed way associations not allowing the irl to run on their tracks if they run on a non-speedway track, or maybe because they go out of their way to make their race schedule conflict with the indy 500 so their stars wont bring fame and interest to the irl

Yeah, I'm a hard core Nascar fan I thought it was pretty dumb myself, can't remember which one of the TV guys who said it but yeah...it was dumb..That race was so dang long with all the cautions they were running out of stuff to talk about..

then why not race formula one. since when is keystone light, busch and all the other watered down american beers better than champagne and scotch. i thought they raced nascar just because anyone can do it and it takes no skill, everyone with a drivers license drives in bumper to bumper traffic every time they get on the highway. do you see any nascar drivers jumping into open-wheel cars...no because they dont have any talent. give me all the thumbs down you want...but facts are facts. another fact, formula one is popular in every country in the world and nascar is only popular in one...wonder why

It was stupid but it was just a joke, not a slam at milk drinkers worldwide or the IRL. Loosen up a bit.

it just seems to add to the list of stupid things the new generation announcers say I have yet to find a new generation announcer I like.
