But, what do you think Jr's chances are of finishing a race this season?

I am just looking at the next 3 races, hoping Jr will win, but at this point, I would just like to see him finish at least one race out of the next 3. I know, next year is gonna be a whole different story, and we will be counting the wins. For now, what do you think about the next 3 races?

Go Jr.>>>>

I don't think he'll win one, I would just like to see him FINISH one! Maybe in the top 10?

it is truly a shame what has happened to Jr this year, with him competing the way he has only to have engine failures, wrecks or tires falling off, I can truly understand why he is pissed off. Yesterday he was competing for the win when the wheel fell off (not just the tire, it was rim and all!), how exactly does that happen? It is very rare for something like that to happen. I do not know how many other racers have had engines blow up as much as Jr has, however the thing that intrigues me is the fact that Truex jr has not had the same issues with his engines as Dale jr has had. Could it be that his team is setting the limits differently???? I do not know, I am sure someone has to know, because no one has said that it is consistently the same part(s) failing every time an engine blows up in Dale jr's ride. Hopefully things will change once he gets over to HMS.

...I'm not going to give up hope until the last lap of Homestead. I think he would have had a shot at Atlanta if the tire had not fell off.

...Here is some intersting stuff that was brought to attention in this article. http://sports.yahoo.com/nascar/news;_ylt=Aon7eproYWym6QEekoU_HiXov7YF?slug=jt-juniorhendrick102807&prov=yhoo&type=lgns There was some harsh words spoken to the possible cause of the tire ordeal.

...Junior said after the race that the loose wheel issue was recurring, but when there wasn't a problem, "we were fast as #@!!." So the wheel guy had made more than one mistake on the wheels. Either someone was standing on the air hose and the lug nuts didn't get tightened enough or this guy is making a lot of mistakes.

...Also it was reported in the article:"Afterward, far away from victory lane where Johnson celebrated, the No. 8 team lingered in the garage. One crew member could be heard sniping at another with words that can't be repeated here. It was all in frustration, and it's understandable. It's human".

...People are falling apart there but maybe they can pull one win before 2008. Truex was running the new RO7 engines and they were holding up which is a real good sign and he was fast.!!! If Jr was running the same RO7 engine then I believe he still can win one provided they don't try to kill him before it happens.

Added about the wheel:
...During Jrs testing at Atlanta they asked him about the wheel issue. Here is what he said...

What happened was is we had…middle part of the race we were running second to Martin. Thought we had a flat tire. Come in, didn't have any flats. The wheel had worked its way loose. It had fouled up either the threads on the studs or the hub itself. So every time we put the left rear back on, on every stop, 30, 40 laps into the run, it would work its way loose again. So the wheel came loose on every run.

Yea I know. I was at the bowling alley and was watching it with 3 laps to go and all i saw was restart and jr is in the wall.
honestly, i wish there was a way he could finish. but theresa will find a way to give jr a bad engine. 3 more dnf's i will predict and im a die-hard jr fan.
yesteraday was hist 8th DNF 7 were engine related. but get this

Before his announcement to leave dei
2 blown engines
After his announcement to leave dei
he runs good does well has a chance to win or top 5
but he blows an engine, 5 times after his announcement to leave dei.
1 is just a blown tire which im happy with because it's not a blown engine even tho i wanted a finish.

so 5 blown engines after he said he was leaving

2 before said he was leaving

the odds of that?? tell me.
i firmly believe jr's cars have been tainted

Finishing a race yeah, but not winning a race. I don't wish any driver to crash, but crashes are apart of NASCAR, but my question is this. Since Jr fans as well as drivers who support other drivers who hate Gordon, when Gordon got spun around & crashed into & the fans starting cheering, would be alright if non Jr supporters reacted the same way like when it happened to Gordon? I don't personally wouldn't stoop so low as to do that. I was just wondering that's all.

I'm a Jr. fan too. He can do good if he doesn't have his engine blow up. Have you noticed that after almost every race he finishes around 10th position?

Not sure how he will do the rest of this year, but next season I think Jr. is going to do awesome driving for Hedricks.

Jr. has a lot on his plate since his dad passed, trying to live up to the name, putting up with his step mom etc, etc. I believe in 08 number 88 with show a diff. kind of racer and person. It will be strange to see him on a diff. team and running diff. colors but he will win races. I've been a Gordon fan since he started racing in the cup series, but Jr. has my hopes and wish him the best.

He's had a lot of DNFs but, that doesn't mean he will never finish another race this season. I would be worried if most of his races wew a DNF but still. Also, does it really matter what anyone else's opinion on that is? Will their opinion change yours?
